TENSION ISOLATING ADJUSTABLE ADAPTER FOR EXTERNAL FIXATION AND METHODS OF PRODUCTION AND USE THEREOF
Tension isolating adjustable adapters are disclosed, along with kits and systems containing same, as well as methods of production and use thereof. The tension isolating adjustable adapters include a percutaneous device holder that can be releasably connected to a percutaneous device via a locking element, and a tensioning member that engages the percutaneous device holder. The tensioning member has at least one tension pad that is shaped and configured to be disposed about the percutaneous device insertion site in the patient's skin, and the engagement of the tensioning member(s) to the percutaneous device holder allows for adjustment of the tension pad(s).
Modular orthopedic clamps
An orthopedic clamp to assist in reducing the displacement between bone ends of a fracture, and to position a fixation device, during open fracture reduction surgery is described. The clamp includes a holder to hold the fixation device against the bone. The clamp may also swivel in relation to the holder while the position of the fixation device remains unchanged. The clamp may be modular so that components thereof may be released and/or attached.
Quantitative assessment of prosthesis press-fit fixation
A system and method for quantitatively assessing a press fit value (and provide a mechanism to evaluate optimal quantitative values) of any implant/bone interface regardless the variables involved including bone site preparation, material properties of bone and implant, implant geometry and coefficient of friction of the implant-bone interface without requiring a visual positional assessment of a depth of insertion. The following description is presented to enable one of ordinary skill in the art to make and use the invention and is provided in the context of a patent application and its requirements.
Quantitative assessment of implant bone preparation
A system and method for quantitatively assessing, during bone preparation, an estimation of future a press fit value (and provide a mechanism to evaluate optimal quantitative values) of any implant/bone interface regardless the variables involved including bone site preparation, material properties of bone and implant, implant geometry and coefficient of friction of the implant-bone interface without requiring a visual positional assessment of a depth of insertion. The following description is presented to enable one of ordinary skill in the art to make and use the invention and is provided in the context of a patent application and its requirements.
Prosthesis revision systems and methods
A system and method for allowing any surgeon, including those surgeons who perform a fewer number of a revision procedure as compared to a more experienced surgeon who performs a greater number of procedures, to provide an improved likelihood of a favorable outcome approaching, if not exceeding, a likelihood of a favorable outcome as performed by a very experienced surgeon with the revision procedure.
Cranial bone fastening device for fastening a cranial bone portion to a positioning device
A cranial bone fastening device for temporarily fastening multiple cranial bone portions to a main body of a positioning device in order to orient the cranial bone portions relative to one another, wherein a pin-like fixing element portion is provided, one side of which is designed to contact the multiple cranial bone portions in order to secure the cranial bone portions to the main body of the positioning device upon interaction with a counter portion on the other side of the cranial bone portions.

ELECTRONICALLY ASSISTED MEDICAL DEVICE
An electronically assisted artificial vertebral disc having an upper disc plate and a lower disc plate is disclosed. An actuator imparts movement to at least one of the upper and lower disc plates. A control device controls the actuator and the amount of movement between the disc plates. The actuator includes a plurality of either linear actuators or rotary actuators that are driven by electric motors in response to the control device. The control device includes at least a first sensor for detecting the position of the actuator and at least a second sensor for detecting the spatial orientation of at least one of the upper and lower disc plates. The control device also preferably includes a microprocessor that calculates the desired positions of the upper and lower disc plates and provides a control signal to the actuator to drive the upper and lower disc plates to their desired positions.

Method for treating and repairing knee fractures resulting from benign tumors using patient-specific electronic templates
This invention relates to a method for osteotomy correction and fixation of tumor fracture by placing a patient specific template over the osteotomy or the tumor locations, which produced by a certain preoperative planning and depends on a highlighted land marks on the bone surface. The patient specific template includes a holes and slots for fixation and resection of the bone. The patient specific template guide the surgeon to the boundaries of tumor along the bone. The planning and the design of the patient specific template depend on the tibial mechanical axis.
