LASER-ASSISTED ORAL SURGERY SYSTEM
Periodontal disorders such as disorders associated with a dental implant are treated. An average power for a laser is selected via a user interface on a tablet, along with a set of permissible laser parameters provided in response to the selected average power. A gingival trough or flap is created around the implant with the laser. Infected tissue is selectively ablated or denatured via photothermolysis, and a pocket is lased around the affected implant. Marginal tissues are compressed against the implant.

SYSTEM AND METHOD TO MAP ACTIVE RF CHANNELS TO RESPECTIVE PUMP HEADS FOR COOLED RADIOFREQUENCY ABLATION
A controller for a cooled radiofrequency ablation system is configured to sequentially activate a plurality of pump assemblies with a pump activation time delay between the activation of each of the plurality of pump assemblies, measure a temperature drop delay time for each of a plurality of cooled radiofrequency ablation probes, map each respective pump assembly of the plurality of pump assemblies to a corresponding cooled radiofrequency ablation probe of the plurality of cooled radiofrequency ablation probes based on the temperature drop delay time and an activation time of each of the plurality of pump assemblies, and confirm the mapping of each respective pump assembly to the corresponding cooled radiofrequency ablation probe by comparing, for each of the plurality of cooled radiofrequency probes, the measured temperature drop delay time to an expected temperature drop delay time.
MICROWAVE ABLATION NEEDLE HEAD AND MICROWAVE ABLATION NEEDLE
The present disclosure relates to the field of microwave ablation treatment devices, and in particular, to a microwave ablation needle head and a microwave ablation needle. A microwave ablation needle head, comprising an outer tube, a cooling tube, a coaxial cable, and an electrode. The outer tube comprises a first branch tube and a second branch tube which are sequentially provided in a direction from the distal end to the proximal end of the outer tube, and the end of the first branch tube away from the second branch tube forms the distal end of the outer tube, and the material of the first branch tube is a ceramic material or a polymer material. The cooling tube is provided within the outer tube, the cooling tube and the outer tube are spaced apart from each other, and a first cooling flow channel is formed between the cooling tube and the outer tube, the material of the cooling tube is a polymer material, and the distal end of the cooling tube is located inside the distal end of the first branch tube, so as to form a mounting space in a distal end region of the cooling tube. The microwave ablation needle head can effectively suppress induced currents, and eliminate the effect of induced currents on ablation shapes.
Systems and methods for thermal therapy
The present invention is directed to systems and methods for thermal therapy, especially to detection-guided, -controlled, and temperature-modulated interstitial thermal therapy. Thermal therapy may be used to treat the tissues of a patient. In the case of interstitial thermal therapy, energy is applied to generate heating of the tissue to affect treatment, such as, for example, thermally inducing tissue damage (e.g. thermally-induced tissue necrosis), which may be useful in treating tumors and/or other diseased tissues. Since targets for thermal therapy are internal to the patient, the use of detection guidance may be useful in locating and monitoring treatment of a target tissue.
Cryosurgical instrument
A cryosurgical instrument includes a feed line for conveying fluid into an expansion chamber. The feed line has a capillary line section that terminates in the expansion chamber and forms an aperture for the fluid to undergo the Joule-Thomson effect. The flow cross-section of the feed line decreases in at least one transition section of the feed line in the form of a funnel. Following each transition section there preferably follows a step section, in which latter section the flow cross-section is preferably largely constant. The last step section is preferably formed by the capillary line section. Due to the acceleration of the fluid in the transition sections and the abating of pressure fluctuations in the capillary tube section and, optionally in the additional step sections, the expansion range in the expansion chamber is increased, without impeding the backflow of the expanded gas out of the expansion chamber.
Ablation probe systems
An ablation probe tip 100 having a shaft 102 with an insertion end 104 and an annular aperture 120 near the insertion end 104. A center of ablation 124 is located within the shaft 102 and surrounded by the annular aperture shaft 102. The ablation probe tip 100 may be part of an ablation probe system 50 that includes an ablation source 60 that provides ablation means 62 to the ablation probe tip 100. The center of ablation 124 is a focal region from which the ablation means 62 radiates through the annular aperture 120 to form an ablation zone 150, 160, 170. The system 50 has at least one intra-operative control selected from the group of: ablation zone positioning control, ablation zone shaping control, ablation center control, ablation zone temperature control, guided ablation volume/diameter control, and power loading control.
Flexible microwave ablation antenna and microwave ablation needle employing same
A flexible microwave ablation antenna and a microwave ablation needle including the same are disclosed. The flexible microwave ablation antenna including: a radiator for transmitting microwave for ablation; a coaxial cable for propagating the microwave for ablation generated by a microwave generator to the radiator; wherein the flexible microwave ablation antenna is bendable. Preferably, an annular composite structure is disposed around a periphery of the coaxial cable to suppress the electromagnetic wave from propagating along the coaxial cable in a reverse direction. The annular composite structure includes an annular non-metallic layer and an annular metallic layer surrounding the annular non-metallic layer. The annular metallic layer is electrically insulated from the coaxial cable.
Intra-esophageal balloon system
A balloon is provided for selectively moving an esophagus away from an ablation site. The balloon is received through an oral cavity and into the esophagus of a patient. A deflecting member is provided in the tube, the balloon, or both, so as to selectively distort to bend the balloon and/or the tube to move the esophagus away from the ablation site. The deflecting member may comprise at least one of a strip made of a shape memory material that is responsive to the receipt of a stimulus to deflect to a predetermined shape, a strip that is made of or contains a ferrous material and that deflects in response to the presence of a magnetic field, and a selectively tensionable cable, wire, or string. The deflecting member may be supplemented by a stiffening strip that is located in the balloon and that causes the balloon to expand circumferentially and asymmetrically when inflated.
