Bra, bra cup, and method of manufacturing same

A bra cup for a bra includes an inner layer of material configured to face a wearer's breast when the bra is worn and an outer layer of material configured to face away from the wearer when the bra is worn. An outer face of the inner layer of material is adjacent an inner face of the outer layer of material. A thin polymer web is disposed on the outer face of the inner layer of material. A bra including the bra cup and a method of manufacturing the bra cup are also disclosed.

A brassiere and method of making including a front portion configured to receive the breasts of the wearer and a back panel including a first lateral side affixed to the front portion and a second lateral side affixed to the front portion. A bra structure comprises two cups connected to each other. Each cup has an apex area and a peripheral area. A wing extends from the edge of each peripheral area. The ends of two wings, which are far away from the cups, can be fastened together. A single piece of a seamless 3D fabric substrate, such as a spacer fabric or a sandwich fabric, is compression-molded to integrally form two cups and two wings. After compression-molding, the 3D fabric substrate has a greater thickness in the apex area than in the peripheral area. The bra structure is seamless, air-permeable, thin, lightweight, pressure-free, and comfortable. Further, the bra structure is fast to fabricate and low in fabrication cost.
