Double loop lasso with single puller wire for bi-directional actuation

A catheter has a distal assembly with at least one loop with ring electrodes. A single continuous puller wire for bidirectional deflection is pre-bent into two long portions and a U-shape bend therebetween. The U-shape bend is anchored at a distal end of a deflectable section which is reinforced by at least one washer having at least two holes, each hole axially aligned with a respective lumen in the deflectable section. Each hole is centered with a lumen so that each puller wire portion therethrough is straight and subjected to tensile force only. A proximal end of the support member is flattened and serrated to provide a better bonding to the distal end of the deflectable section.

Bipolar electrode probe

Provided is a bipolar electrode probe, which includes a conductive needle, an insulation layer, a conductive sleeve, and an insulation sleeve. The conductive needle has a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The insulation layer covers the conductive needle and has a first opening. The conductive sleeve covers the insulation layer and has a second opening. The insulation sleeve covers the conductive sleeve. When the bipolar electrode probe is turned on, a longitudinal electric field is formed from a front end of the conductive needle to the conductive sleeve along the longitudinal direction. A transverse electric field is formed from the conductive needle to the conductive sleeve via the first opening and the second opening along the transverse direction.

An arthroscopic system includes a hand piece with a motor drive. an elongate shaft assembly is detachably secured to a distal end of the hand piece, and the elongate shaft assembly includes an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve rotatably mounted in the outer sleeve. The inner sleeve couples to the motor drive when the elongate shaft assembly is attached to the hand piece, and an inner distal cutting window on the inner sleeve moves in and out of alignment with an outer distal cutting window on the outer sleeve as the motor drive rotates the inner sleeve. A distal electrode is disposed on an outer surface of the outer sleeve at a location opposite to that of the outer distal cutting window, and the outer sleeve member is rotatable relative to the hand piece when the hub is secured to the hand piece such that a user can hold the hand piece in one hand and rotate the outer sleeve to selectively place the outer distal cutting window or the distal electrode in an upward orientation relative to the user while continuing to hold the hand piece in the one hand.

Network sniffer for system watchdog and diagnostic

A console may receive signals from one or more components of the medical system over an input/out (I/O) interface. The console may process the received signals into one or more packets and transmit the one or more packets over a first interface. The console may identify an origin of the one or more packets. The console may monitor time intervals between the one or more packets to determine a connection status of the one or more components. The console may parse each of the one or more packets into a packet header and data and inspect the data for errors. The console may transmit an indication of the connection status and an indication of errors to a display over a second interface. The display may indicate the connection status and the presence of errors using one or more display schemes.

RETRIEVAL OF MATERIAL FROM CORPOREAL LUMENS

Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by use of a distal element comprising an expandable mesh. a treatment device includes an elongated member having a proximal portion and a distal portion configured to be positioned within a blood vessel at a treatment site at or near a thrombus. A distal element comprising an expandable mesh is coupled to the distal portion of the elongated member via a connection assembly. In an expanded state, at least a portion of the mesh is configured to be in apposition with the blood vessel wall at the treatment site to anchor or stabilize the elongated member with respect to the blood vessel. The distal element can be electrically coupled to an extracorporeal current generator.

SURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH ENHANCED TRIGGER

An endoscopic bipolar forceps includes a housing having a shaft extending therefrom including an end effector assembly disposed at a distal end thereof having jaw members. A movable handle is pivotable relative to the housing from an initial position wherein the jaw members are spaced relative to one another to a compressed position wherein the jaw members are closed about tissue. A trigger assembly is pivotably coupled to the movable handle and includes a trigger operably coupled to a knife assembly having a knife, a knife drive bar and a cam pin. The trigger includes an elongated slot defined therein configured to house the cam pin for translation therein. Upon actuation of the movable handle, the trigger moves in unison with the movable handle to the compressed position and the cam pin rides within the elongated slot maintaining consistent angle between the movable handle and the trigger during movement thereof.
