According to one aspect of the present disclosure, a medical device may include a shaft assembly. The shaft assembly may include a sheath having a first lumen. The shaft assembly may also include a rotatable shaft extending through the first lumen. The rotatable shaft may be rotatable relative to the sheath, and may have a second lumen and a side opening. The shaft assembly may also include an electrode extending through the second lumen and the side opening, and radially outwardly from the rotatable shaft. The electrode may be movable relative to the rotatable shaft.

ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT

Instruments having a hood that defines and surrounds a flow chamber. The flow chamber can serve for suction of emissions that are produced due to influence of an electrode supplied with high frequency voltage on biological tissue. For elimination of tissue deposition and other clogging from the flow chamber the electrode is surrounded by a movable hood that can be transitioned for cleaning purposes out of its operating position into a cleaning position.

Forceps actuation systems

Forceps including a housing, a first body, a second body and a drive shaft. The first body has a passageway extending therethrough. The drive shaft extending through the passageway and connected to the first body such that the first body and the drive shaft are slidable with respect to the housing to drive jaws located at a distal portion of the drive shaft between an open position and a closed position. The second body having a second passageway. The drive shaft extending through the second passageway such that the second body is guided by the drive shaft and is slidable relative to the first body and the drive shaft to displace a blade shaft between a retracted position and an extended position.

A surgical instrument includes a slip-ring contact assembly. The slip-ring contact assembly includes an insulative housing defining a plurality of slots. A plurality of slip-ring contacts is operably supported in the insulative housing. Each slip-ring contact is configured to engage one or more electrical contacts formed circumferentially around a rotatable shaft of the surgical instrument. Each slip-ring contact includes a tang extending through a corresponding slot defined in the insulative housing and configured to be operably connected to an external wire connection. The plurality of slip-ring contacts is configured to allow unlimited rotation of the rotatable shaft while maintaining continuous electrical contact between each slip-ring contact and the corresponding electrical contact of the rotatable shaft.

ENDOSCOPIC SURGICAL ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY

An electrode assembly for endoscopic surgery, including an electrode core wire (1), a telescopic control member (2) and an insulating outer sleeve (3). The electrode core wire (1) includes an electrode tip (101), a coaxial cable (102) and an electrode insulating tube (103). The electrode tip (101) is electrically coupled to an output end of an external host through the coaxial cable (102). The electrode insulating tube (103) sleeves on the electrode tip (101). The insulating outer sleeve (3) movably sleeves on the outside of the electrode core wire (1), and one end of the insulating outer sleeve (3) where the electrode tip (101) is located is a preset distance longer than the electrode insulating tube (103). The telescopic control member (2) is configured to control the movement of the insulating outer sleeve (3) so that the electrode tip 101 extends out of the insulating outer sleeve (3) or retracts into the insulating outer sleeve (3). The present disclosure can avoid high frequency current leakage during operation and influence thereof on the accumulation of electric field energy on the electrode tip, and meanwhile can avoid the electrode tip (101) from scratching an endoscope channel while passing through the endoscope channel and influence of the scratching on the service life of the endoscope.
