An advancer is slidably disposed within the outer tube to move the plurality of electrodes to the extended position. An actuator moves the advancer from a first position to a second position to advance the plurality of electrodes. An aspiration tube extends within the outer tube. An assembly includes an aspiration disabler having a first position to enable aspiration from a distal portion of the aspiration tube to a proximal portion and a second position to disable aspiration.

CORING AND AMPUTATION DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS

A method for removing tissues may comprise disposing a tissue resection device at a target tissue site, causing the tissue resection device to resect a core of tissue from the target tissue site, removing the core of tissue from the body, wherein the removing the core of tissue from the body creates a core cavity at the target tissue site.

A method for cell printing is disclosed. The method includes generating a receiver substrate, ablating or removing a portion of the receiver substrate via a first laser to expose a target layer, generating a donor substrate containing a back surface and a front surface, applying a coating of donor material to the front surface. The method further includes aligning the front surface of the donor substrate to be parallel to and facing the receiver substrate, wherein the donor material is disposed adjacent to the target layer, and irradiating the coating through the back surface of the donor substrate with one or more laser pulses produced by a second laser to transfer a portion of the donor material to the target layer. A system for cell printing is also disclosed.

Unfurling electrode devices with spring

Methods, systems, and devices for providing treatment to a tissue in body lumens are described. The system may include a catheter, an expansion member coupled with a distal portion of the catheter, an ablation structure including one or more longitudinal electrode segments, and an ablation structure support coupled to the ablation structure configured to at least partially unfurl as the expansion member expands and furl as the expansion member contracts. The ablation structure may include multiple separately wired and/or separately controlled longitudinal electrodes, longitudinal electrode zones, or both, such that each longitudinal electrode or longitudinal electrode zone may be selectively enabled or selectively disabled. In some instances, one or more springs are coupled to the ablation structure configured to promote unfurl or furl around the expansion member. In some instances, one or more protection elements are be positioned along the catheter.

INJECTATE DELIVERY DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS

An injectate delivery device for expanding tissue is provided. The injectate delivery device comprises: at least one fluid delivery tube comprising a proximal end, a distal end and a lumen therebetween; at least one fluid delivery element in fluid communication with the at least one fluid delivery tube lumen; a radially expanding element comprising the at least one fluid delivery element; a supply of vacuum constructed and arranged to cause tissue to tend toward the at least one fluid delivery element; and at least one control constructed and arranged to perform a function. The at least one control can be constructed and arranged to expand the radially expandable element and activate the supply of vacuum. Systems and method of injectate delivery are also provided.

The disclosed technology is directed to a treatment instrument that comprises a sheath main body having opposed respective distal and proximal end regions. The sheath main body includes an outer diameter such that the sheath main body capable of being fit into the channel for insertion of the treatment instrument of the endoscope. The sheath main body includes a lumen extending along a longitudinal axis in the distal end region. A wire-shaped incising portion is configured to engage with the sheath main body so as to protrude from an outer circumferential surface of the sheath main body in the distal end region and extending along the longitudinal axis of the sheath main body. The wire-shaped incising portion is used to incise a tissue. A wire is attached to at least a portion of the sheath main body and having a region in which the wire has different bending resistances.

PROCESS FOR PROVIDING PROTECTIVE THERAPY FOR BIOLOGICAL TISSUES OR FLUIDS

A process that provides protective therapy for biological tissues or fluids includes applying a pulsed energy source to a target tissue or a target fluid having a chronic progressive disease or a risk of having a chronic progressive disease to therapeutically or prophylactically treat the target tissue or target fluid. The pulsed energy source has energy parameters selected so as to raise the target tissue or bodily target fluid temperature up to a predetermined temperature for a short period of time to achieve a therapeutic or prophylactic effect, while the average temperature rise of the target tissue or target fluid over a longer period of time is maintained at or below a predetermined level so as not to permanently damage the target tissue or target fluid.

SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR TREATING METABOLIC MEDICAL CONDITIONS

Provided herein are systems for treating a patient, the systems comprising: a treatment device for treating a minimum amount of mucosal tissue of the patient's small intestine. The system is configured to treat a medical condition of the patient. Methods of treating a patient are also provided.

HYBRID LASER CUTTER

A tool has a handle and an elongate shaft that extends distally from the handle. A distal portion of the shaft is inserted into a subject during a surgical procedure. An optical fiber delivers laser energy to a tip at the distal portion of the shaft. The tip includes a mechanical cutting mechanism including a moving part that absorbs the laser energy, thermally conducts the absorbed energy to tissue that is disposed between the moving part and another part, and moves with respect to the other part in order to cut tissue that is disposed between the parts using a mechanical force that is lower than a mechanical force that would be required to cut the tissue in the absence of the laser energy. Other embodiments are also described.

Electrosurgical resection instrument

An electrosurgical resection instrument for applying to biological tissue radiofrequency electromagnetic energy has a protective hull comprising a shaped piece of dielectric material mounted to cover an underside of an instrument tip of the instrument. The protective hull acts as a shield to protect tissue that may lie under the instrument tip from damage during treatment. The instrument may be particularly useful in procedures performed in a gastrointestinal tract, where bowel perforation is a concern, or in the pancreas, where damage to the portal vein or the pancreatic duct may occur when a tumor or other abnormality is being resected, dissected or removed.
