Devices, systems and methods for the treatment of abnormal tissue

Devices, systems and methods are provided to treat damaged, diseased, abnormal, obstructive, cancerous or undesired tissue (e.g. a tumor, a benign tumor, a malignant tumor, a cyst, or an area of diseased tissue, etc) by delivering specialized pulsed electric field (PEF) energy to target tissue areas. The energy is delivered in a manner so as to be non-thermal (i.e. below a threshold for causing thermal ablation). Consequently, when extracellular matrices present, the extracellular matrices are preserved, and the targeted tissue maintains its structural architecture including blood vessels and lymphatics. Thus, sensitive structures, such as biological lumens, blood vessels, nerves, etc, are preserved which are critical to maintaining the integrity and functionality of the tissue. The energy is delivered with the use of systems and devices advantageously designed for superior access to target tissue throughout the body, particularly in locations previously considered inaccessible to percutaneous approaches.

Cryogenic catheter probe, system, and method for selective ablation of mucosa and submucosa of the gastrointestinal tract

Disclosed is a cryogenic catheter probe, cryogenic ablation system, and use thereof for performing cryogenic ablation of mucosal tissue and/or of both mucosal tissue and submucosal tissue in the gastrointestinal tract of a subject. The cryogenic catheter probe includes a chamber and a channel assembly housed within the chamber. The channel assembly includes a central rail, at least one cryogenic fluid delivery channel, a delivery channel guide, and a sprayer guide. The at least one cryogenic fluid delivery channel has a fluid delivery channel portion and a sprayer connected to the fluid delivery channel portion, and is mounted on the central rail for longitudinal movement along the central rail. The sprayer is configured to release cryogenic spray in at least one treatment zone along the hollow body portion of the chamber.

Catheters, systems, and methods for cryogenic ablation of gastrointestinal tract tissue are described. Catheter includes a probe and a cryogenic supply assembly housed within the probe. The cryogenic supply assembly includes a sprayer orifice assembly having a sprayer tube and a seal chamber component, and a cryogenic supply line within the sprayer orifice assembly. The sprayer tube includes one or more sprayer orifices for delivery of a cryogenic fluid from the cryogenic supply line to the probe. The seal chamber component includes a seal chamber associated with each of the one or more sprayer orifices and forms a fluidic conduit between the cryogenic supply line and the one or more sprayer orifices through which the cryogenic fluid flows to the probe. The cryogenic supply assembly is configured so that the cryogenic supply line and the sprayer tube move either axially independent of one another or axially together as one unit.
