Methods for treating eating disorders and for reducing a risk associated with developing an eating disorder in patients via therapeutic renal neuromodulation and associated systems. Renal sympathetic nerve activity can be attenuated to improve a patient's eating disorder status or risk of developing an eating disorder. The attenuation can be achieved, for example, using an intravascularly positioned catheter carrying a therapeutic assembly configured to modulate the renal sympathetic nerve.

RADIO FREQUENCY ABLATION DEVICE COMPRISING BALLOON BLOCKING CATHETER AND ABLATION METHOD THEREFOR

A radio frequency ablation device (300) comprising a balloon blocking catheter. The radio frequency ablation device (300) comprises a double or multi-lumen balloon blocking catheter (310) and a radio frequency ablation catheter (320). a stent (321) is arranged at the far end of the radio frequency ablation catheter (320). Two or more electrodes (322, 325, 326) are arranged on the stent (321), and are connected to a radio frequency generator respectively by means of the corresponding guide wires arranged in the radio frequency ablation catheter (320). When the radio frequency ablation device (300) is used for ablating blood vessel peripheral nerves, inflating a blocking balloon (311) arranged at the far end of the guide catheter (310) to block local blood flow in a blood vessel. The invention has ideal nerve ablation effect.

Medical user interfaces and related methods of use

A medical system for use in a lithotripsy procedure may include a processor configured to receive input from a first imaging device, wherein the first imaging device may be configured to send image data representative of an image captured in a lumen of a kidney, bladder, or ureter to the processor. The processor may be configured to display the image on a display device coupled to the processor, and analyze the image to sense the presence of an object within the image. If an object was sensed within the image, the processor may analyze the image to estimate a size of the object, and display the estimate on the display device.

Medical systems, devices, and related methods

A medical system may include an insertion device including a delivery shaft with at least one lumen, a tube coupled to an exterior of the delivery shaft, and an adaptor coupling a distal end of the delivery shaft to a distal end of the tube. One of the delivery shaft and the tube may be configured to receive an energy delivery device, and the other of the delivery shaft and the tube may be configured to be coupled to a suction source to apply suction.

Medical systems, devices, and related methods

A medical system includes an insertion device including a handle and a delivery portion, a laser fiber, a conductive wire, and a lock. The laser fiber extends through the insertion device and is coupled to a laser slider to control a position of the laser fiber relative to a distal end of the delivery portion. The conductive wire extends through the insertion device and is coupled to a wire slider to control a position of the laser fiber relative to a distal end of the delivery portion. The lock is positioned within the handle and is movable in order to selectively lock either the movement of the laser slider or lock the movement of the wire slider.

Renal neuromodulation methods and devices for treatment of polycystic kidney disease

Methods for treating polycystic kidney disease with therapeutic renal neuromodulation and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. One aspect of the present technology is directed to methods that at least partially inhibit sympathetic neural activity in nerves proximate a renal artery of a kidney of a patient. One or more measurable physiological parameter corresponding to the polycystic kidney disease can thereby be reduced. Moreover, central sympathetic drive in the patient can be reduced in a manner that treats the patient for the polycystic kidney disease. Renal sympathetic nerve activity can be modulated along the afferent and/or efferent pathway. The modulation can be achieved, for example, using an intravascularly positioned catheter carrying a neuromodulation assembly, e.g., a neuromodulation assembly configured to cryotherapeutically cool the renal nerve or to deliver an energy field to the renal nerve.
