Targeting therapeutic agents
Provided are devices, systems, and methods for targeted administration of therapeutic agents to a subject. For example, provided are devices, systems, and methods for targeting the administration of peri-urethral bulking agents.
Apparatus and methods to modulate bladder function
Apparatus and methods are provided to concentrate energy delivery in non-superficial target tissue within a trigone region of a human bladder wall to modulate bladder function.
Methods and Devices for Treating Pelvic Conditions
A device and method that provides a minimally-invasive approach to performing treatments on soft tissue, such as that found in the bladder. The device is useful for manipulating tissue such that treatment tools can be inserted into the tissue at a controlled depth.
System for Endovaginal Delivery of Therapeutic Energies
A system and method for endovaginal delivery of therapeutic treatment energies. The system and method include an applicator having a body with a treatment window. The treatment window may include one or more transducers and one or more electrodes for delivering the therapeutic treatment energies to a target tissue in the vagina. The system and method may include a rollerball tip, an optical window, and ultrasonic imaging. The vagina may be mapped and the applicator may be located at a target tissue selected based on the map to deliver one or more treatment energies.
MICROWAVE TREATMENT DEVICES AND METHODS
The present invention discloses medical systems and methods adapted for the delivery of various medical components such as microwave antennas within or on a body for performing one or more medical procedures. Several embodiments herein disclose medical systems comprising a combination of one or more medical components and one or more elongate steerable or non-steerable arms that are adapted to mechanically manipulate the one or more medical components. Several embodiments of microwave antennas are disclosed that comprise an additional diagnostic or therapeutic modality located on or in the vicinity of the microwave antennas.
HANDPIECE FOR LASER DEVICE
An electro-mechanical-type handpiece is specially designed to be used with a laser Generator, particularly those that use a CO.sub.2 laser and provide a laser beam in fractional mode. The fractional mode laser beam is provided in a pattern of homogeneous points aligned in rows, columns or diagonally, and such a pattern allows internal tissue along an entire length of a vagina of a patient to be treated and a pelvic floor of the patient to be retracted, such that a urinary bladder of the patient is elevated and, owing to the change in angle thereof, slight or moderate losses of urine are resolved or improved. In addition, the device can be used to treat the inner surface of the vagina of the patient, reducing vaginal laxity caused by childbirth and age.
Low Energy Acoustic Pulse Apparatus and Method
An apparatus for generating an acoustic energy pulse and delivering it into a body is described. The apparatus includes a generator for creating an acoustic energy pulse having an energy density field that can be measured at all points within a space in the shape of an imaginary cylinder having a length greater than or equal to 2 cm and a diameter. The cylindrically shaped space has a cylinder longitudinal axis oriented relative to a longitudinal axis of the energy pulse at an angle in the range from zero to twenty degrees. A minimum energy density for the pulse at all locations within the cylindrically shaped space is at least 50% of a maximum energy density for the pulse within the space.
Laser system and laser treatment head therefor
A laser treatment head guides a laser beam to a target area within a body cavity and includes a laser output element having a deflection element. The laser output element with deflection element is rotatable relative to a guide element about an axis. First and second thread elements mutually engage to cause the deflection element to perform a combined axial and rotational movement relative to the guide element. A control unit and the laser treatment head are configured such that the target area is irradiated by individual pulses (p) in a helical pattern of irradiation spots over a section of the circumference of the body cavity. The control unit is further configured such that reference locations (X) on the target area are irradiated by an individual pulse number (N) of subsequent pulses (p), thereby heating the mucosa tissue within the target area to a predetermined temperature.
Methods and devices for treating pelvic conditions
A device and method that provides a minimally-invasive approach to performing treatments on soft tissue, such as that found in the bladder. The device is useful for manipulating tissue such that treatment tools can be inserted into the tissue at a controlled depth. In some implementations, the device and method described herein are suited to provide therapy to non-mucosal target tissue (or a target volume of tissue) to modulate bladder function. In an example, energy can be delivered to denervate selected portions of the bladder, such as afferent nerves.
Apparatus and Methods to Modulate Bladder Function
Apparatus and methods are provided to concentrate energy delivery in non-superficial target tissue within a trigone region of a human bladder wall to modulate bladder function.
