ELECTROSURGICAL SYSTEM

An electrosurgical system can include an electrosurgical generator, a feedback circuit or controller, and an electrosurgical tool. The feedback circuit can provide an electrosurgery endpoint by determining the phase end point of a tissue to be treated. The electrosurgical system can include more than one electrosurgical tool for different electrosurgical operations and can include a variety of user interface features and audio/visual performance indicators. The electrosurgical system can also power conventional bipolar electrosurgical tools and direct current surgical appliances.

Methods and devices for treating nasal airways are provided. Such devices and methods may improve airflow through an internal and/or external nasal valve, and comprise the use of mechanical re-shaping, energy application and other treatments to modify the shape, structure, and/or air flow characteristics of an internal nasal valve, an external nasal valve or other nasal airways.

LAPAROSCOPIC ULTRAPOLAR ELECTROSURGERY DEVICE
20230293227 · 2023-09-21 ·

A laparoscopic ultrapolar electrosurgery device having both active and return electrodes that reduces potential injury to patients during laparoscopic surgery by eliminating capacitive coupling when employing an electrosurgical handpiece device for cutting and/or coagulating tissue.

Surgical instruments incorporating light energy tissue treatment functionality

A tissue-treating portion of a surgical instrument includes a body defining a cavity and a light-energy transmissible sphere captured within the cavity such that a portion of the light-energy transmissible sphere protrudes from the body. The light-energy transmissible sphere is capable of unlimited rotation in all directions relative to the body. The light-energy transmission cable extends through the body to a position spaced-apart from the light-energy transmissible sphere. The light-energy transmission cable is configured to transmit light energy to the light-energy transmissible sphere. The light-energy transmissible sphere, in turn, is configured focus the light energy towards tissue to treat tissue.

NOZZLE MEMBER FOR RETAINING AN ELECTRODE WITHIN AN ELECTROSURGERY HANDPIECE/PENCIL WITH SMOKE EVACUATION

A nozzle member for retaining an electrode within an electrosurgery handpiece/pencil that includes a first hollow tubular member, a second hollow tubular member having a smaller diameter than the first hollow tubular member, and a rib member that connects the first hollow tubular member to the second hollow tubular member so that the second hollow tubular member is positioned completely outside of the first hollow tubular member.

Secure Cryosurgical Treatment System

A method for cryogenically treating tissue. A connection is detected between a probe having a disposable secure processor (DSP) to a handpiece having a master control unit (MCU) and a handpiece secure processor (HSP), the probe having at least one cryogenic treatment applicator. The probe is fluidly coupled to a closed coolant supply system within the handpiece via the connection. An authentication process is initiated between the DSP and the HSP using the MCU. As a result of the authentication process, one of at least two predetermined results is determined, the at least two predetermined results being that the probe is authorized and non-authorized.

Electrosurgery handpiece/pencil with smoke evacuation
11751935 · 2023-09-12 · ·

An electrosurgery handpiece/pencil with smoke evacuation having features that support use at high frequencies without insulation breakdown and that provides increased efficiency of smoke evacuation during cutting and/or coagulation. The electrosurgery handpiece/pencil with smoke evacuation includes a handpiece and a planar platform located near a top of the handpiece where the planar platform has a recessed area and/or a rectangular shaped area in communication with a plurality of channels.

Modular battery powered handheld surgical instrument with selective application of energy based on tissue characterization

A surgical instrument is disclosed that comprises a motor, a radio frequency (RF) energy generator, a first jaw, a second jaw movable relative to said first jaw in response to an actuation from said motor to capture tissue, and a segmented circuit comprising a first electrode configured to measure tissue impedance at a first position and a second electrode configured to measure tissue impedance at a second position. The RF energy generator is configured to transmit RF energy to the tissue by way of said first electrode or said second electrode. A controller is configured to control said motor based on the measured tissue impedances, energize said first electrode with a first amount of RF energy based on the tissue impedance measured at said first position, and energize said second electrode with a second amount of RF energy based on the tissue impedance measured at said second position.

System and method for balloon diameter hysteresis compensation

A balloon catheter system for use by an operator for treating a targeted vein, the balloon catheter system comprising a balloon catheter, a fluid source and a control system. The balloon catheter includes a balloon having a balloon interior, the balloon configured to undergo one or more inflation cycles. The fluid source contains a cryogenic fluid that is selectively delivered to the balloon interior. The control system is configured to selectively control the delivery of the fluid to the balloon interior and to that selectively adjusts an inflation pressure to of the balloon interior based on a number of inflation cycles undergone by the balloon so as to selectively adjust an inflated balloon diameter of the balloon.
