ENERGY-BASED SURGICAL INSTRUMENT FOR GRASPING, TREATING, AND/OR DIVIDING TISSUE
A surgical instrument includes a housing and a trigger assembly. The trigger assembly includes a trigger including a drive portion and a manipulation portion, a rocker, a linkage, and a slider. The trigger is pivotably coupled to the housing such that the drive and manipulation portions are moved in different directions in response to actuation of the trigger. The drive portion of the trigger is pivotably coupled to the rocker. The linkage is pivotably coupled to the rocker and the housing at opposing end portions thereof. The slider is pivotably coupled to the rocker and operably coupled to the deployable component. Actuation of the manipulation portion of the trigger moves the drive portion of the trigger distally to thereby urge the rocker distally, pivot the linkage about the second end portion thereof, and slide the slider distally to deploy the deployable component distally.
Flexible neutral electrode
An energy module is disclosed. The energy module includes a control circuit and a two wire interface coupled to the control circuit. The two wire interface is configured as a power source and as a communication interface between the energy module and a neutral electrode.
ENERGY-ACTIVATION MECHANISMS FOR SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS
A surgical instrument includes a housing, energizable member, first activation switch, cable assembly, and second activation switch. The housing is operatively associated with the energizable member. The first activation switch is coupled to the energizable member and is selectively transitionable from an open condition to a closed condition. The cable assembly is coupled to the housing at a first end and includes a plug at a second, opposite end, the plug housing a second activation switch selectively transitionable from an open condition to a closed condition. The plug is adapted to connect to the source of electrosurgical energy, wherein transitioning of the first activation switch from the open condition to the closed condition transitions the second activation switch from the open condition to the closed condition such that the second activation switch communicates with the source of electrosurgical energy to initiate the supply of energy to the energizable member.
RF treatment apparatus including micro needles, method of controlling same and treatment method using same
The present invention relates to an RF treatment apparatus including micro needles, a method of controlling the same, and a treatment method using the same according to the present invention have effects in that they can prevent damage to a tissue and perform optimized treatment because RF energy can be adjusted and applied based on a current-carrying area that belongs to a portion of the micro needles and that has been inserted into a tissue.
Electrosurgical instrument
An electrosurgical instrument used in electrosurgery, and includes a handpiece to be gripped by a user and provided with an accommodation space therein; a cable coupled to a rear end of the handpiece so as to transmit electrical energy; a conductive electrode, at least a portion of which protrudes toward a front side of the handpiece and which is configured to move in a front-rear direction relative to the handpiece; and a connecting body provided in the accommodation space and including a conductor electrically connecting the cable and the conductive electrode to each other, and a film formed of a non-conductive material and bonded to opposite sides of the conductor so as to shield the conductor, wherein at least a portion of the connecting body is formed of a Flexible Printed Circuit Board (FPCB) and is formed in a spiral or helical shape such that the total length of the connecting body is variable in the front-rear direction. According to the present disclosure, it is possible to provide an electrosurgical instrument in which, since the connecting body is provided, an electrically stable coupling state can be ensured and the conductive electrode can be moved smoothly when the conductive electrode is moved in the front-rear direction relative to the handpiece or is rotated.
ROBOTIC SURGICAL SYSTEMS WITH ELECTRICAL SWITCH FOR INSTRUMENT ATTACHMENT
A robotic surgical system includes an electrosurgical energy source, a sterile interface module, and a surgical instrument. The surgical instrument has a housing and an elongated shaft that extends distally from the housing to an end effector. The housing supports a switch. The energy source is coupled to the surgical instrument to transmit electrical energy from the electrosurgical energy source to the switch. The switch is positioned to enable the electrical energy to be transmitted to the end effector of the surgical instrument when the sterile interface module is engaged with the switch. The switch is positioned to prevent the electrical energy from being to the end effector when the sterile interface module is disengaged from the switch.
DISPOSABLE HAND-ACTUATED ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENTS
A disposable electrosurgical tool comprises a tool portion with a handle portion enabling one-handed manipulation of the tool to place an electrode at a distal end of the handle portion in contact with tissue to apply electrical current introduced to the tool portion. A switch body integrally mounted to the proximal end of the tool handle includes a push-button switch that is electrically connected to the electrode. An actuator body, removably connected to the switch body, mounts an actuator lever arm rotated by a finger of the user's hand holding the tool to close the switch. A power cord integrally connected to the switch body connects the switch to an electrical generator to introduce electrical current to the electrode when the switch is closed. The tool portion, switch body, and power cord comprise an easily sterilized, single-use, unitary electrosurgical tool.
Medical instrument
A jaw assembly that includes a first jaw and a second jaw. The first jaw includes a first outer jaw member having an effecting surface; a first inner jaw member having an effecting surface; and an element connecting the first outer jaw member and the first inner jaw member. The first inner jaw member is moveable relative to the first outer jaw member. The effecting surface of the first outer jaw member is proud of the effecting surface of the first inner jaw member in a direction of the second jaw.
Surgical instrument with a sensing array
A surgical instrument is disclosed. The surgical instrument includes a shaft, a sensing array and a fluid detection circuit. The sensing array is positioned within the shaft. The fluid detection circuit is electrically coupled to the sensing array, and is configured to determine when a fluid originating from an environment external to the shaft is present within the shaft.
Surgical instrument comprising a control circuit
A surgical instrument is disclosed comprising a housing and a control circuit mounted to and/or embedded in the housing.
