SHOPPING FACILITY ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS TO DETECT AND HANDLE INCORRECTLY PLACED ITEMS
Systems and methods are provided to address incorrectly placed items. Some systems comprise: a plurality of motorized transport units that are each configured to perform multiple different tasks at a retail shopping facility; and a central computer system configured to instruct various ones of the plurality of motorized transport units to implement at least one of the multiple different tasks relative to the retail shopping facility, receive and analyze input data detected and provided by the motorized transport units while the motorized transport units perform the at least one of the tasks, and detect and categorize each item of multiple items that are incorrectly placed within the retail shopping facility according to one of multiple different predefined categories.
APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MONITORING PRODUCT PLACEMENT WITHIN A SHOPPING FACILITY
Methods and apparatuses are provided for use in monitoring product placement within a shopping facility. Some embodiments provide an apparatus configured to determine product placement conditions within a shopping facility, comprising: a transceiver configured to wirelessly receive communications; a product monitoring control circuit coupled with the transceiver; a memory coupled with the control circuit and storing computer instructions that when executed by the control circuit cause the control circuit to: obtain a composite three-dimensional (3D) scan mapping corresponding to at least a select area of the shopping facility and based on a series of 3D scan data; evaluate the 3D scan mapping to identify multiple product depth distances; and identify, from the evaluation of the 3D scan mapping, when one or more of the multiple product depth distances is greater than a predefined depth distance threshold from the reference offset distance of the product support structure.
ROBOT CONTROLLER AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
This robot controller causes a robot to follow a target, while a transfer device moves the target, by using a detection result obtained by a movement-amount detecting device that detects the amount by which the transfer device moves the target. When the value of any one of the speed, the acceleration, and the jerk of the target calculated based on the detection result obtained by the movement-amount detecting device or the pattern of the speed, the acceleration, and the jerk deviates from the predetermined reference, the robot controller performs predetermined reporting or stops the robot.
ROBOTIC SYSTEM CONTROL METHOD AND CONTROLLER
The present disclosure provides a control method of a robotic system that implements a high degree of cooperation between units including a robot and increases a storage efficiency of an operation object sufficiently.
A control method includes: deriving an approach location at which the end effector grips an operation object; deriving a scan location for scanning an identifier of the operation object; and based on the approach location and the scan location, creating or deriving a control sequence to instruct the robot to execute the control sequence. The control sequence includes (1) gripping the operation object from a start location; (2) scanning an identifier of the operation object with a scanner located between the start location and a task location; (3) temporarily releasing the operation object from the end effector and regripping the operation object by the end effector to be shifted, at a shift location, when a predetermined condition is satisfied; and (4) moving the operation object to the task location.
Workpiece placement system for placing workpiece in containment area or on jig
A workpiece placement system includes a robot for placing a workpiece in a containment area or on a jig; a sensor for measuring a three-dimensional shape of the containment area or jig; a processor for performing a process to determine a workpiece placement position and a workpiece placement posture based on the three-dimensional shape; and a robot controller for controlling the robot based on the workpiece placement position and the workpiece placement posture. The processor obtains a workpiece shape of the workpiece to be placed; retrieves workpiece placement postures chosen by a user; calculates a vacant area of the containment area or jig based on the three-dimensional shape; calculates workpiece placeable areas that satisfy the workpiece shape and the workpiece placement posture in the vacant area; and determines the workpiece placement position and the workpiece placement posture suitable for placement of the workpiece in the workpiece placeable areas.
Automated Identification And Assembly Of Shoe Parts
Manufacturing and assembly of a shoe or a portion of a shoe is enhanced by automated placement and assembly of shoe parts. For example, a part-recognition system analyzes an image of a shoe part to identify the part and determine a location of the part. Once the part is identified and located, the part can be manipulated by an automated manufacturing tool.
ROBOTIC SYSTEM WITH PIECE-LOSS MANAGEMENT MECHANISM
A method for operating a robotic system that includes calculating a base motion plan, wherein the base motion plan includes a sequence of commands or settings, or a combination thereof, that operates a robotic arm and a gripper to transfer a target object from a start location to a task location; receiving a contact measure while executing the base motion plan, wherein the contact measure represents an amount of grip of the gripper on the target object; and generating one or more actuator commands/settings that deviate from the base motion plan when the contact measure fails to satisfy a threshold, wherein the one or more actuator commands/settings thereof are configured to operate the robotic arm, the gripper, or a combination thereof to execute one or more response actions not included in the base motion plan.
SHOPPING FACILITY ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS
Apparatuses, components and methods are provided herein useful to provide assistance to customers and/or workers in a shopping facility. In some embodiments, a shopping facility personal assistance system comprises: a plurality of motorized transport units located in and configured to move through a shopping facility space; a plurality of user interface units, each corresponding to a respective motorized transport unit during use of the respective motorized transport unit; and a central computer system having a network interface such that the central computer system wirelessly communicates with one or both of the plurality of motorized transport units and the plurality of user interface units, wherein the central computer system is configured to control movement of the plurality of motorized transport units through the shopping facility space based at least on inputs from the plurality of user interface units.

Manufacturing and assembly of a shoe or a portion of a shoe is enhanced by automated placement and assembly of shoe parts. For example, a part-recognition system analyzes an image of a shoe part to identify the part and determine a location of the part.
