HIP JOINT INSTRUMENT AND METHOD
The present invention relates to a method of treating a hip joint of a human patient, the hip joint comprising an acetabulum, the acetabulum being a part of the pelvic bone, and a caput femur, the caput femur being the proximal part of the femoral bone, said method comprising the steps of: cutting the skin of the human patient, dissecting an area of the pelvic bone on the opposite side from the acetabulum, creating a hole in said dissected area, said hole passing through the pelvic bone and into the hip joint of the human patient, and performing an action in the hip joint, through said hole in the pelvic bone.
Material removal catheter having an expandable distal end
Catheters for ablation and removal of occlusions from blood vessels are provided. Laser cutting systems and mechanical cutting systems are provided in catheter devices, the cutting systems operable to ablate, cut, dislodge, and otherwise remove occlusions within a blood vessel that may limit or prevent proper circulation. Catheters include expandable distal ends to facilitate, in some cases, relatively high bodily material removal rates compared to other devices.
FLUIDIC DEVICES, METHODS, AND SYSTEMS
Fluidic devices, methods, and systems are disclosed. One system may comprises a sheath, a delivery module, and a removal module. The sheath includes a working lumen, a delivery lumen, and a removal lumen. The delivery module is configured to move a fluid from a fluid reservoir and into a body cavity through the delivery lumen. The removal module is configured to move the fluid and a particulate contained therein out of the body cavity through the removal lumen, through a filtration device that removes the particulate, and back into the fluid reservoir. One method comprises placing a distal end of sheath into a body cavity, energizing the working lumen to generate a particulate in the cavity, moving the fluid into the cavity to engage the particulate, and moving the fluid and the contaminant from the body cavity, through a filter for removing the contaminant, and back into the fluid source.
ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION TARGETING DEVICES, ASSEMBLIES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS
The present application is directed to devices, assemblies, systems and methods for targeting one or more sites with electromagnetic radiation. The devices, assemblies and systems are operationally configured to transform and convey electromagnetic radiation to one or more targeted sites. The devices, assemblies and systems may also convey one or more fluids or fluid solutions to the one or more targeted sites.

Laser ablation catheters having expanded distal tip windows for efficient tissue ablation
Laser ablation catheters and methods of using same for efficient tissue ablation are disclosed. In some cases, laser ablation catheter embodiments may include expanded distal tips that allow for beam energy expansion and reduce dead space at the distal cutting surface of the laser ablation catheter.
DEVICE FOR LIGHT BASED SKIN TREATMENT
A device for light-based skin treatment is provided. The device comprises a light source for providing an incident light beam for treating a skin, optical elements for focusing the incident light beam in a focal point inside the skin, and a skin interface element for, during use of the device, providing optical coupling of the incident light beam from the device into the skin. The skin interface element comprises a transparent exit window for allowing the incident light beam to leave the device, on top of the exit window, a transparent mixture of a polar substance and an apolar substance, and on top of the transparent mixture, a transparent foil, the transparent foil being more hydrophobic than the exit window.
HIP JOINT DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD
An implantable medical device for implantation in a hip joint is provided. The medical device comprises: at least one artificial hip joint surface adapted to replace at least the surface of at least one of the caput femur and acetabulum. At least one artificial hip joint surface comprises: a positioning hole with at least one opening in said at least one artificial hip joint surface. The hole is adapted to be placed and dimensioned such that the medical device is adapted to be fitted using a positioning shaft and at least partly surround the shaft, for positioning the at least one artificial hip joint surface in a desired position in the hip joint. The hole is adapted to be fitted using the positioning shaft, when the shaft is stabilized and placed in at least one of the femoral bone and the pelvic bone for positioning said medical device inside the hip joint.
