Systems and methods for virtually tagging and securing industrial equipment
In one embodiment, a non-transitory computer readable medium may include computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, may receive a first set of data associated with a user, receive a second set of data associated with one or more lockout procedures performed by the user, receive a request to actuate a locking mechanism of an electronic lock configured to prevent a machine in an industrial automation application from being operational, and send a signal to the electronic lock to actuate the locking mechanism when the second set of data indicates that the lockout procedures have been performed by the user and the data corresponds to an authorized user.
Systems and methods integrating multiple pieces of industrial equipment
In one embodiment, a manifold apparatus may include a number of housings. The housings may receive an electrical or a fluid conduit. The manifold apparatus may also include an actuation mechanism of each of the number of housings configured to control a supply of electricity or fluid from the respective electrical or fluid conduit to one or more industrial automation equipment, and a locking mechanism including a number of armatures. Each of the number of armatures is associated with a respective housing of the plurality of housings, and each of the number of armatures is configured to physically prevent a respective actuation mechanism of the respective housing from changing states.
Systems and methods enabling online one-shot learning and generalization by intelligent systems of task-relevant features and transfer to a cohort of intelligent systems
An intelligent system, such as an autonomous robot agent, includes systems and methods to learn various aspects about a task in response to instructions received from a human instructor, to apply the instructed knowledge immediately during task performance following the instruction, and to instruct other intelligent systems about the knowledge for performing the task. The learning is accomplished free of training the intelligent system. The instructions from the human instructor may be provided in a natural language format and may include deictic references. The instructions may be received while the intelligent system is online, and may be provided to the intelligent system in one shot, e.g., in a single encounter or transaction with the human instructor.
Robot
A robot includes: links, connected in series to a base via joints; actuators, driving the joints to relatively displace a corresponding pair of links connected to each other; control devices, distributedly arranged in the base and the links and controlling the actuators; a communication cable, comprising an optical fiber connecting the control devices to each other and transmitting information; and light amount measurement devices, measuring the amount of light of an optical signal transmitted to the control devices via the communication cable. Each control device monitors the amount of light measured by the light amount measurement device corresponding thereto, and determines a state of the communication cable corresponding thereto based on the amount of light.
INTEGRATED ROBOTIC CONTROLLER
An integrated robotic controller is disclosed which includes a communication interface configured to provide connectivity to a set of elements comprising a robotic system and a processor coupled to the communication interface and configured to: receive state information via the communication interface from or more elements included in the set of elements; make based at least in part on the state information a decision as to how to control one or more elements included in the set of elements; and send to each of the one or more elements, via the communication interface, a command determined based on at least in part on the decision.
