The integrated measurement system comprises a tracking system, which comprises a shadow imaging tracking system comprising an optical source, a shadow-generating device and a patient specific instrument sensor. An initial position of the instrument or the patient specific instrument is registerable by the patient specific instrument sensor. The shadow-generating device is arranged between the optical source and the imaging device for generating a shadow. The shadow imaging tracking system is configured to compute the elevation of the source from the pattern the shadow casts on the surface of the imaging device. The integrated measurement system comprises an inertial measurement unit to determine the patient's position.
Image processing apparatus, X-ray diagnostic apparatus, and image processing method
A medical image-processing apparatus according to an embodiment includes processing circuitry configured to determine a position of a feature point of a device in a first X-ray image, and generate a superimposed image in which a 3D model expressing the device is superimposed on the first X-ray image or a second X-ray image that is acquired later than the first X-ray image. The processing circuitry is configured to superimpose the 3D model on the first X-ray image or the second X-ray image at a position based on the position of the feature point.
Patella tracking
Disclosed herein are a surgical system for patella tracking and a method for selecting a properly-sized patellar implant utilizing the same. The surgical system may include first and second trackers and a patellar tracking system. The first tracker may be configured to contact an unresected or a resected patella, and the second tracker may be configured to contact a bone. The patellar tracking system may be configured to track the first and second trackers during patellar flexion and extension to generate patellar range of motion and patellar trial range of motion. A method for selecting a patellar implant may utilize the first and second trackers and the patellar tracking system.
Leveraging two-dimensional digital imaging and communication in medicine imagery in three-dimensional extended reality applications
A surgical system includes an XR headset and an XR headset controller. The XR headset is configured to be worn by a user during a surgical procedure and includes a see-through display screen configured to display an XR image for viewing by the user. The XR headset controller is configured to receive a plurality of two-dimensional (“2D”) image data associated with an anatomical structure of a patient. The XR headset controller is further configured to generate a first 2D image from the plurality of 2D image data based on a pose of the XR headset. The XR headset controller is further configured to generate a second 2D image from the plurality of 2D image data based on the pose of the XR headset. The XR headset controller is further configured to generate the XR image by displaying the first 2D image in a field of view of a first eye of the user and displaying the second 2D image in a field of view of a second eye of the user.
Placement of surgical implants
Methods, apparatuses, and systems for designing, modifying, and installing a surgical implant optimized for a patient's unique physiology are disclosed. The methods are based upon data from surgical implants installed in other patients. Allowing patient outcomes from previously installed surgical implants to influence the design, placement, and surgical tool path for enable the implanting of surgical implants having the greatest likelihood of a successful patient outcome.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING AN OPTIMAL POSITION OF A SURGICAL INSTRUMENT RELATIVE TO A PATIENT'S BONE TRACKER
The invention relates to a system for determining an optimal position of a surgical instrument relative to a patient's bone tracker, the system comprising:—a medical imaging system configured to acquire at least one cone beam computed tomography intraoperative image of the patient;—a localization device;—a computer configured to receive images from the medical imaging system and localization data from the localization device and to implement the following method: the method comprising: ⋅(a) receiving at least one preoperative 2D X-ray image of the bone while the patient is in a position of interest; ⋅(b) acquiring an intraoperative 3D medical image of the bone by cone beam computed tomography while the patient is in an operative position different from the position of interest, the 3D image being registered with the coordinate system of the bone tracker; ⋅(c) registering the intraoperative 3D medical image onto the at least one preoperative 2D X-ray image, so as to obtain a registered 3D image representing the bone in the position of interest; ⋅(d) planning a surgical procedure on the registered 3D medical image taking into account said position of interest; ⋅(e) determining an optimal position of the surgical instrument relative to the patient's bone tracker for implementing said planned surgical procedure.
Method for Optimization of Orthopedic Component Design
Methods for understanding external and internal anatomy of bones through the use of imaging data and 3D modeling to facilitate the design of anatomically correct plates, devices and implants are disclosed. In one aspect the method results in an implant or plate that includes at least one curved surface wherein a contour of the at least one curved surface corresponds to an anatomic shape of a subject. The anatomic shape of the subject being determined based on an image of the bone.
JAILED AIRWAY DETECTION AND AIRWAY STENT HOLE CUTTING GUIDE
