SYSTEM FOR MAINTAINING AND CONTROLLING SURGICAL TOOLS
Methods, apparatuses, and systems for maintaining and controlling surgical tools are disclosed. For each surgical tool, a surgeon can give verbal commands which can result in feedback provided by a synthesized voice or the execution of an action as instructed by the verbal command. The tools are monitored during use to ensure the tools remain within their operating parameters. The system alerts the surgeon should the tools approach their operational limitations.

The computing device can be configured to measure an electrical current drawn by the motor during rotation of the driver magnet. The computing device can be configured to maintain the motor in the powered state in response to a mean value of the electrical current being greater than or equal to a mean value threshold, and a standard deviation value of the electrical current being less than or equal to a standard deviation threshold.

An position sensor such as an IMU is removably positioned on a patient bed used to support a patient during a robotic surgical procedure in which a robotic manipulator is used to manipulate a surgical instrument. When the bed is moved during the course of surgery, signals corresponding to a sensed changed in the bed's position are received by a processor, which causes a corresponding repositioning of the robotic manipulator.

A method facilitates touchless control of medical equipment devices in an OR. The method involves: providing a three-dimensional control menu, which comprises a plurality of menu items selectable by the practitioner by one or more gestures made in a volumetric spatial region corresponding to the menu item; displaying an interaction display unit (IDU) image corresponding to the three-dimensional control menu to provide indicia of any selected menu items; estimating a line of sight of a practitioner; and when the estimated line of sight is directed within a first spatial range around a first medical equipment device, determining that the practitioner is looking at the first medical equipment device. Then the method involves providing a first device-specific three-dimensional control menu displaying a first device-specific IDU image.

A virtual model a planned instrument attachment can be provided to ensure correct selection of a physical instrument attachment. An XR headset controller can generate a shape and a pose of the virtual model of the planned instrument attachment based on predetermined information associated with the planned instrument attachment and based on a pose of an instrument relative to the XR headset. An XR headset can display the virtual model on a see-through display screen of the XR headset that is configured to allow at least a portion of a real-world scene to pass therethrough.
Mobile virtual reality system for surgical robotic systems
Mobile virtual reality system for simulation, training or demonstration of a surgical robotic system can include a virtual reality processor. The processor can generate a virtual surgical robot and render the virtual surgical robot on a display. The virtual surgical robot can include a virtual surgical tool. A handheld user input device (UID) can sense a hand input from a hand. A foot input device can sense a foot input from a foot. The virtual reality processor can be configured to control a movement or action of the virtual surgical robot based on the hand input, and change which of the virtual surgical instruments is controlled by the one or more handheld UIDs based on the foot input. Systems and methods for calculating external bone loss for alignment of pre-diseased joints comprising: generating a three-dimensional (“3D”) computer model of an operative area from at least two two-dimensional (“2D”) radiographic images, wherein at least a first radiographic image is captured at a first position, and wherein at least a second radiographic image is captured at a second position, and wherein the first position is different than the second position; identifying an area of bone loss on the 3D computer model; and applying a surface adjustment algorithm to calculate an external missing bone surface fitting the area of bone loss.
