SELF-ALIGNED DOCKING FOR A ROBOTIC SURGICAL PLATFORM
A robotic system can incorporate one or more sensors along a robotic arm in order to permit self- or auto-alignment of the robotic arm with a cannula during a docking procedure. The sensor can detect and measure a force or moment resulting from contact between an instrument driver of the robotic arm and the cannula. In response thereto, the robotic system can translate and/or rotate components of the robotic arm in order to align the instrument driver with the cannula, thereby facilitating latching of the cannula to the instrument driver.
ULTRASONIC ROBOTIC SURGICAL NAVIGATION
Surgical robot systems, anatomical structure tracker apparatuses, and US transducer apparatuses are disclosed. A surgical robot system includes a robot, a US transducer, and at least one processor. The robot includes a robot base, a robot arm coupled to the robot base, and an end-effector coupled to the robot arm. The end-effector is configured to guide movement of a surgical instrument. The US transducer is coupled to the end-effector and operative to output US imaging data of anatomical structure proximately located to the end-effector. The least one processor is operative to obtain an image volume for the patient and to track pose of the end-effector relative to anatomical structure captured in the image volume based on the US imaging data.
REAL TIME IMAGE GUIDED PORTABLE ROBOTIC INTERVENTION SYSTEM
An image-guided robotic intervention system (“IGRIS”) may be used to perform medical procedures on patients. IGRIS provides a real-time view of patient anatomy, as well as an intended target or targets for the procedures, software that allows a user to plan an approach or trajectory path using either the image or the robotic device, software that allows a user to convert a series of 2D images into a 3D volume, and localizes the 3D volume with respect to real-time images during the procedure. IGRIS may include sensors to estimate pose of the imaging device relative to the patient to improve the performance of that software with respect to runtime, robustness, and accuracy.
Shape sensing of multiple over-the-wire devices
A medical instrument includes a first device (108) including shape-sensed flexible instrument, a second device (102) disposed over the first device and a third device (109) disposed over the first device and a portion of the second device. The second and third devices include a geometric relationship such that a position of the second device and the third device is determined from shape sensing information of the first device and the geometric relationship.
SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES FOR DISTRACTION CONTROL
A distraction system can include a distraction implant comprising a magnetic element and a distraction mechanism configured to expand the distraction implant in response to rotation of the magnetic element. The distraction system can include an external device comprising a motor configured to rotate a driver magnet while in a powered state, the driver magnet configured to rotate the magnetic element, a computing device configured. The computing device can be configured to measure an electrical current drawn by the motor during rotation of the driver magnet. The computing device can be configured to maintain the motor in the powered state in response to a mean value of the electrical current being greater than or equal to a mean value threshold, and a standard deviation value of the electrical current being less than or equal to a standard deviation threshold.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL INSTRUMENT POSE ESTIMATION
The present disclosure relates to systems, devices, and methods for augmenting a two-dimensional image with three-dimensional pose information of instruments shown in the two-dimensional image.
Method for bone registration and surgical robot
The present disclosure provides a surgical robot including a control system, a force identification system, a robotic arm system and a navigation system, the robotic arm system including a robotic arm, a robotic arm terminal detachably connected to a trackable element. The navigation system acquires and provides a registration point of interest on an object to the robotic arm system. The robotic arm system controls movements of the robotic arm to drive the trackable element to move to the registration point of interest. The force identification system detects and provides a force applied to the robotic arm terminal to the control system. The control system determines whether the trackable element has moved to the registration point of interest on the object. The present disclosure also provides a method for bone registration of the surgical robot.
GRASPING WORK DETERMINATION AND INDICATIONS THEREOF
A surgical system is disclosed. The surgical system comprises an end effector configured to move through a grasping motion, a motor configured to drive the grasping motion, an encoder configured to detect rotary positions, a load sensor configured to detect loads delivered, a position sensor configured to detect three-dimensional positions of the end effector, and a control circuit configured to receive a position parameter, a rotary parameter, and a load parameter, store the position parameter at the outset of the grasping motion, calculate an amount of work performed during the grasping motion while the position sensor detects the position of the end effector within a three-dimensional zone around the stored position parameter, transmit a work signal indicative of the amount of work performed, and reset the calculation of the amount of work performed when the position sensor detects a displacement of the end effector out of the three-dimensional zone.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AIDING NON-CONTACT DETECTOR PLACEMENT IN NON-CONTACT PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEMS
Systems and methods for aiding a clinician in the proper positioning, placing or otherwise locating of a non-contact detector component of a non-contact patient monitoring system are described. The systems and methods may employ a targeting aid superimposed on a display screen component of the non-contact patient monitoring system, the targeting aid being designed to assist the clinician in properly locating the non-contact detector for proper and accurate functioning of the non-contact patient monitoring system. The systems and methods described herein may also employ a bendable mounting arm to which the non-contact detector is attached such that the non-contact detector can be easily moved into the proper location when used in conjunction with the targeting aid superimposed on the display.
SURGICAL PLATFORM WITH MOTORIZED ARMS FOR ADJUSTABLE ARM SUPPORTS
A robotic medical system can include a motorized arm that is supported by a column of the system. The robotic arm can be operated by rotating a link of the motorized arm by actuating an actuator to drive rotation of a rotary joint. A brake can then be applied to the rotary joint to stop rotation of the link. The arm can also include an arbor that can be actuated to increase a torsional stiffness of the rotary joint.
