The garment contours the breasts and other aspects of the chest area into a fashionable form by delivering distinct amount of compression force at select areas of the garment. In various embodiments, the shaper garment includes a support area covering the breasts and a shaping area including one or more compression zones for moving the support area to enhance the appearance of the wearer. The shaper garment may be knitted from one continuous piece of fabric with the compression areas knitted directly into the base layer. The shaper garment may also include one or more transition zones between the areas and/or zones of the garment to smoothly transition between different areas and/or zones.

A process for manufacturing an undergarment having two superimposed textiles, comprising depositing on certain parts of reinforcements (8) comprising a thick layer of a shaped memory foam elastic material, the polymerization of this material and also the shaping of the textiles of the undergarment by thermoforming, characterized in that it comprises a step of depositing, on the entire surface of at least the textiles, a thin layer of an elastic adhesive-bonding material, and then a step of polymerizing this thin layer of adhesive bonding during the thermoforming for shaping, and in that it comprises a step of prior depositing, on the textile receiving the layer of reinforcement (8), of a barrier layer of an elastic material, which is polymerized before the depositing of this reinforcement.

A brassiere includes a front portion configured to be position along a front of a torso, a back portion coupled to the front portion, and a shoulder strap extending from the front portion to the back portion. The front portion comprises a fabric layer and a discontinuous polymer layer. The fabric layer includes a first, user-facing side and second side opposite the first side. The polymer layer is deposited on the second side of the fabric layer. The polymer layer forms covered fabric areas where the polymer is applied to the fabric layer and noncovered fabric areas where the polymer is not applied to the fabric layer. The noncovered fabric areas provide openings in the discontinuous polymer layer, thereby exposing the fabric layer. An elastic modulus of the covered fabric areas is greater than the noncovered fabric areas.
