Support garment

Aspects herein provide for a support garment having a vibration damping structure that is positioned between the breast contacting surfaces of the support garment. The vibration damping structure has a shape and/or material characteristics that enable it to substantially fill the space defined by a medial aspect of the wearer's breasts and the wearer's sternum. This positioning and placement facilitate the damping structure's ability to absorb and dissipate impact forces generated at least through the medial-to-lateral movement of the wearer's breasts during, for example, athletic activities.

High impact and high support bras

Bras for high impact, high support activities are provided. A bra comprises a band that wraps around a torso. The band includes first and second cup regions, and a channel that runs below the collective cup regions. A gore is formed above the channel and between the respective cup regions, adjoining the respective cup regions. A molded cradle is fitted into the channel. For each cup region, a tessellated encapsulating bra cup is fitted therein. Each tessellated encapsulating bra cup includes a plurality of tiles. Respective tiles in the plurality of tiles that are further away from the cradle are larger in size than respective tiles in the plurality of tiles that are closer to the cradle. Each tessellated encapsulating bra cup has a generally concave first inner face and a generally convex first outer face. The tessellated encapsulating bra cups collectively contribute cantilevered support to the bra.

A brassiere having a pair of breast cups, shoulder straps and a chest band, wherein each of the breast cups can be attached to the shoulder straps using one of a plurality of fasteners, most typically standard nursing clips, with each fastener providing for a different fit. A first fastener could be attached directly to the breast cup and used to provide a snug fit, while a second fastener could be attached to the breast cup via an extension which provides a much looser fit. Using the second extended fastener would, for example, allow the bra to be used with an in-bra breast pump. The first fastener could be used to fit the bra properly when the in-bra breast pump is not in place.

Bounce-limiting upper body garment
11583010 · 2023-02-21 · ·

Various implementations include a bounce-limiting upper body garment, such as a brassiere (or bra), and methods of making the same. The bounce-limiting garment prevents breast tissue of a wearer from moving upwardly and side to side, which prevents bouncing of the breast tissue. The upward movement of the breast tissue is prevented by applying pressure by the garment on or just above the upper breast tissue, and the side to side movement of the breast tissue is prevented by applying pressure by the garment along lateral sides of the breasts.
