Guide device suitable for performing temporomandibular joint arthroscopy
A guide device for TMJ arthroscopy including one or more pairs of arms pivotly connected at one end to a working cannula holder and defining a working cannula axis; and at the opposite end to at one or more arms via one or more pivot connections to form with the arm one or more adjustable parallelograms, an end of the arm is connected to an irrigation cannula holder defining an irrigation cannula axis, the irrigation cannula axis intersecting with the working cannula axis at an intersection, intersection and one or more of the pivot connections between connecting the arms are located at opposing vertices of one or more of the adjustable parallelograms.
Autovance feature of an intraosseous device
Devices and methods for an autovance intraosseous device. The autovance intraosseous device can include a trigger activated system or pressure activated system that causes a needle to advance distally for a predetermined distance. The predetermined distance ensures a needle tip extends through the bone cortex, to access the medullary cavity, without penetrating a far wall of the medullary cavity. The advancement can be driven by a spring based system or an electric motor.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT SYSTEM COMPRISING AN END EFFECTOR LOCKOUT AND A FIRING ASSEMBLY LOCKOUT
Surgical stapling instruments are disclosed comprising a staple cartridge, a firing member, and a cartridge lockout configured to prevent the firing member from being advanced through the staple cartridge if the staple cartridge has been already spent. The stapling instruments further comprise a lockout in the shaft that responds to the cartridge lockout blocking the firing member.
STAPLING INSTRUMENT COMPRISING JAW MOUNTS
A surgical instrument comprising a first jaw, a moveable second jaw, and one or more mounting brackets that retain said second jaw to said first jaw is disclosed.
SURGICAL INSTRUMENT CONNECTORS AND RELATED METHODS
Connectors for connecting or linking one instrument or object to one or more other instruments or objects are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a connector can include a first arm with a first attachment feature for attaching to a first object, such as a surgical access device, and a second arm with a second attachment feature for attaching to a second object, such as a support. The connector can have an unlocked state, in which the position and orientation of the access device can be adjusted relative to the support, and a locked state in which movement of the access device relative to the support is prevented or limited. Locking the connector can also be effective to clamp or otherwise attach the connector to the access device and the support, or said attachment can be independent of the locking of the connector.
SAFETY TROCAR ASSEMBLY
A trocar assembly includes a deployment assembly including: a cannula having an open end; a trocar disposed in the cannula and having a spear end; and an energizer acting on the trocar and configured to force the trocar from a safety position where the spear end is entirely within the cannula to an extended position where the spear end extends out of the open end; a key releasably coupled with the trocar and extending through the cannula such that the key holds the trocar in the safety position when coupled with the trocar in the safety position and uncoupling the key from the trocar allows the energizer to force the trocar from the safety position to the extended position; and a sheath assembly removably coupled to the deployment assembly, the sheath assembly including a sheath that covers the open end of the cannula.
Medical system for use in interventional radiology
The invention relates to a medical system for use in interventional radiology, adapted to be coupled to a navigation system, comprising: a needle (1) to be inserted into a patient's body toward a target, said needle comprising a distal tip (10) and a proximal stop (110); a needle guide (2), the needle (1) being able to slide within said guide (2) along a longitudinal axis thereof, said needle guide (2) comprising a tracker for navigating the needle guide (2) with respect to a 3D medical image of a patient; a processor configured to detect a contact between the needle guide (2) and the proximal stop (110) and to determine, from navigation data of the needle guide when said needle guide (2) is in contact with the proximal stop (110) of the needle and from the length of said needle, a position of the distal needle tip (10) with respect to the 3D medical image; and a user interface coupled to said processor and configured to display, on at least one image (I) of the patient, a representation of the needle and a point on said representation of the needle to represent the needle tip (10) in said determined position.
Multi-fire lead screw stapling device
A surgical stapling device comprises a housing and a plurality of cartridges that are coupled together to form a barrel that is rotatably supported within the housing. Each of the cartridges defines a plurality of staple pockets that support a plurality of staples. An anvil is pivotally coupled to the housing and is movable in relation to the barrel between an open position and a clamped position. A drive shaft extends through the housing and through the barrel and a pusher operatively connected to the drive shaft. The pusher is configured to translate through the barrel to eject the staples from the plurality of cartridges in response to actuation of the drive shaft. The barrel is positioned within the housing to align a first one of the plurality of cartridges with the anvil to eject the staples from the first cartridge upon movement of the pusher within the barrel through a first firing stroke and subsequently rotatable within the housing to align a second one of the plurality of cartridges with the anvil to eject the staples from the second cartridge upon movement of the pusher within the barrel through a second firing stroke.
SURGICAL STAPLING SYSTEMS
A method is disclosed. The method can comprise obtaining a first staple cartridge and obtaining a second staple cartridge, wherein the first staple cartridge and the second staple cartridge comprise the same length and the same width. The method can further comprise inserting the first staple cartridge into a channel comprising a keyed profile, wherein complete insertion of the first staple cartridge into the channel is prevented by the keyed profile. Additionally, the method can comprise inserting the second staple cartridge into the channel, wherein complete insertion of the second staple cartridge into the channel is permitted by the keyed profile.
SURGICAL TOOL SYSTEM AND METHOD
Devices, Systems, and Methods for controlled movement of the robot system. The surgical robot system may include a robot having a robot base, a robot arm coupled to the robot base, and an end-effector coupled to the robot arm. The robot may include a plurality of omni-directional wheels affixed to the robot base allowing multiple-axis movement of the robot. The robot may further include sensors for detecting a desired movement of the robot base and a control system responsive to the plurality of sensors for controlling the multiple-axis movement of the robot by actuating two or more of the plurality of omni-directional wheels.
