20230165627 · 2023-06-01 ·

A laceration device for use in medical procedures includes a shaft having a proximal portion defining a proximal end, and an opposed distal portion defining a distal end. A perforation electrode is at the distal end, and a first electrical connector extends proximally from the perforation electrode for connection to a power source. An outwardly extending barb is positioned proximal of the distal end. The barb has an inner end proximate the shaft and an outer end opposite the inner end. A laceration electrode is proximal of and adjacent the inner end of the barb, and a second electrical connector extends proximally from the laceration electrode for connection to the power source.

A joint distraction lever includes a lever body, a foot coupled to the lever body via a hinge such that the foot is rotatable relative to the lever body, and a force sensor positioned between a bottom surface of the lever body and the foot and configured to measure a force of the foot on the bottom surface of the lever body during a joint distraction procedure in which a torque is applied to the lever body.

ULTRASOUND PROBE WITH INTEGRATED CONTROLS

An ultrasound probe and an ultrasound system are disclosed. In some embodiments, the ultrasound probe includes a probe body having a user interface with controls and a mode selector. In some embodiments, when the mode selector is in a first setting, the controls are configured to control a probe transducer, and when the mode selector is in a second setting, the controls are configured to control the ultrasound machine via a probe transceiver.

Surgical instruments

A surgical instrument that may include a housing, a transducer engaged with the housing which can produce vibrations, and an end-effector engaged with the transducer. The surgical instrument can further include an adjustable sheath extending from the housing where the sheath is movable relative to the distal tip of the end-effector and where the distance between the distal tip of the sheath and the distal tip of the end-effector can be set such that the sheath can act as a depth stop. The sheath can be adjusted such that, when the distal tip of the sheath contacts the tissue or bone being incised, the surgeon can determine that the appropriate depth of the incision has been reached. In other embodiments, the end-effector can be moved with respect to the sheath in order to adjust the distance between the distal tip of the end-effector and the distal tip of the sheath.

MRI biopsy apparatus incorporating a sleeve and multi-function obturator

An apparatus for use with a minimally invasive medical procedure into human breast tissue includes a cannula and an obturator. The cannula includes an open distal end, a lateral opening proximate to the open distal end, and a longitudinal lumen communicating with the lateral opening and the open distal end. The lumen has a non-circular cross-section. The obturator is sized for insertion into the cannula. The obturator has a distal end extending from the open distal end of the cannula when the obturator is inserted fully into the cannula. The obturator has a recess proximate of the distal end of the obturator. The recess is positioned along a portion of the length of the obturator to align with the lateral opening of the cannula when the obturator is inserted fully into the cannula.
