A device configured to provide a faster and more accurate measurement of depths of holes for placement of bone screws and fastener for bone implant fixation procedures. The device includes a combination of a bone probe for physical examination of a hole drilled in a bone and a depth gauge member for determining a depth of the hole and providing digital measurement of the depth.

NEEDLE SAFETY SYSTEMS

Tissue access devices and methods of using the same are disclosed. The devices can have a sensor configured to occlude a flow path by deflecting a membrane into the flow path when the devices become dislodged from tissue. The sensor can be configured to partially or fully occlude the flow path. The sensor can have a spring. The spring can be biased to move the sensor from a sensor first configuration to a sensor second configuration when a force applied by the sensor first surface against a non-sensor surface changes from a first force to a second force less than the first force. The membrane can be deflected into the flow path when the sensor is in the sensor second configuration.

INSERTER WITH A TELESCOPING REFERENCE FOOT
20230055628 · 2023-02-23 ·

Disclosed herein are reference feet for inserters and method of use thereof. The reference feet can include a body, a tine, a first arm, and a first base. The body can have a longitudinal axis and define an engagement fixture oriented parallel to the longitudinal axis and sized to receive a complementary fixture of an inserter. The tine can extend from the body along the longitudinal axis and including a protuberance sized to engage a stop of the inserter. The first arm can extend from the body. The first base can be attached to the first arm and have a planar surface arranged at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis.

SURGICAL TOOL AND METHOD OF USE
20230054565 · 2023-02-23 · ·

A surgical tool incorporates a suture guide with an anchor driver supporting an anchor where the anchor is maintained at a distance from the suture guide until release of a detent mechanism. Thereafter, the anchor is allowed to move into proximity to the suture guide, fixing a suture supported by the suture guide to a substrate, the entire procedure being achievable with a single hand.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING A TIBIAL BASEPLATE SYSTEM
20220361895 · 2022-11-17 ·

A tibial baseplate system is described. While the system can include any suitable component, in some instances, it includes tibial baseplate having a first and second surface, the second surface being substantially opposite to the first surface, which is configured to be seated on a resected surface at a proximal end of a tibia. In some cases, the baseplate also includes a first spacer coupling that is configured to couple a first spacer to at least one of a lateral side and a medial side of the baseplate such that the spacer is disposed between, and is configured to maintain a set minimal distance between, the proximal end of the tibia and a distal end of a femur when the tibial baseplate is seated on the resected surface at the proximal end of the tibia and the spacer is coupled to the tibial baseplate. Other implementations are discussed.

Surgical stapler with fixed jaw support pin

A surgical instrument and method of manipulating tissue of a patient includes a body having a firing mechanism configured to be selectively manipulated by an operator, a shaft assembly extending distally from the body, and an end effector extending distally from the shaft assembly and configured to receive a cartridge for manipulating tissue of a patient. The end effector includes a distal end portion, a proximal end portion, a gap between the distal and proximal end portions, and a guide pin. The guide pin extends from the distal end portion to the proximal end portion and is connected thereto. Thereby, the guide pin is configured to secure the distal end portion relative to the proximal end portion and inhibit deflection of the distal end portion relative to the proximal end portion.

System for preparing a patient's tibia in an orthopaedic joint replacement procedure

An orthopaedic joint replacement system is shown and described. The system includes a number of prosthetic components configured to be implanted into a patient's knee. The system also includes a number of surgical instruments configured for use in preparing the bones of the patient's knee to receive the implants. A method or technique for using the surgical instruments to prepare the bones is also disclosed.

Loose mode for robot

A robotic arm control system including a medical instrument to be inserted into a body-part, a force sensor to detect force applied by the instrument to the body-part, a robotic arm attached to the instrument, a first position sensor to track an instrument position of the instrument in the body-part, a second position sensor to track a body position of the body-part, and a controller to compute, responsively to the instrument position and the body position, a location of the instrument relative to the body-part, compare the detected force applied by the instrument to a permitted force level for application to an anatomical feature at the computed location and send a control command to, or cut power of, the robotic arm to loosen a rigidity of at least one robotic joint in response to the detected force applied by the instrument being greater than the permitted force level.

NEEDLE SAFETY SYSTEMS

Tissue access devices and methods of using and making the same are disclosed. The devices can have a needle, a housing having wings, a tube having a flow channel, a tube first extension, and a tube second extension, and a torsion spring having a first coil and a second coil. The first coil can have a first coil first arm and a first coil second arm. The first coil first arm can be shorter than the first coil second arm. The second coil can have a second coil first arm and a second coil second arm. The second coil first arm can be shorter than the second coil second arm. The devices can have a sensor. More energy can stored in the torsion spring when the sensor is in a sensor closed configuration than when the sensor is in a sensor open configuration.
