LAMINARY MATERIAL FOR PREVENTING POST-SURGICAL ADHESIONS
A laminary material for preventing post-surgical adhesions, a corresponding kit, and a method for preparing such a laminary material. The laminary material includes an adherence layer for adherence to a desired site and an at least essentially parallel spacing layer attached to the adherence layer at a plurality of attachment points. The adherence layer includes a first polymeric film made of a first biodegradable polymer and an adherence coating. The spacing layer includes a second polymeric film made of a second biodegradable polymer. The adherence layer and the spacing layer define a cavity between the two layers, the cavity consisting of a plurality of interconnected compartments, which are defined by the attachment points.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ADHESION-PREVENTING FILM
Disclosed is a method for producing an anti-adhesion film. The method for producing an anti-adhesion film may include: a discharge step of separately electrospinning a biodegradable polymer solution filled in a first syringe and a crosslinking agent solution filled in a second syringe; and a film forming step of forming an anti-adhesion film by crosslinking of the biodegradable polymer by contact between the biodegradable polymer solution discharged in the form of fibers in the discharge step and the crosslinking agent solution discharged in the form of droplets in the discharge step.
Magnetic joint implant
The application is directed to devices and methods where one or more magnetic or magnetizable implants provides therapeutic benefits to a patient. The implant may be useful for expanding the range of motion of joints or dynamically providing different responses to changing conditions in the body where the implant is placed. An electromagnet is placed on or in a bone on one side of a joint, and another electromagnet or magnetically active material is placed on or in a bone on the opposing side of the joint. The electromagnet may be continuously energized to relieve pressure in the joint space, or may be energized in response to forces applied to the joint.
Adhesion-preventing composition
An adhesion-preventing material having a high adhesion-preventing effect has been demanded. An adhesion-preventing material including a sterilized biocompatible sponge-like laminate, wherein the sponge-like laminate comprises a sponge-like first layer and a sponge-like second layer each of which is at least partially crosslinked with a curing agent and comprises a low-endotoxin alginic acid monovalent metal salt, the alginic acid monovalent metal salt in the first layer has a weight average molecular weight of 10,000 to 2,000,000, the alginic acid monovalent metal salt in the second layer has a weight average molecular weight of 1,000 to 1,000,000, the weight average molecular weights are measured by a GPC-MALS method after a decrosslinking treatment, and the weight average molecular weight of the alginic acid monovalent metal salt in the first layer is higher than that in the second layer.
TEXTILE-BASED PROTHESIS FOR LAPAROSCOPIC SURGERY
The invention relates to a prosthesis (1) comprising a textile (2) of elongate shape defining a longitudinal axis A, and a resilient frame (3) connected to said textile along substantially the peripheral edge of the textile, said frame forming, in the area of each short side of the textile, at least one U-shaped bend (4) extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis, said frame being able to adopt an unstressed configuration, in which said textile is deployed, and a stressed configuration, in which said frame is subjected to a radial force directed towards said longitudinal axis and said textile forms at least one longitudinal fold.
SUPPORT AND PACKAGING FOR MEMBRANES
A support assembly for supporting a biological product (e.g., membrane) in an operative position. The support assembly has a base and a cover. A membrane receiving portion of the base defines a plurality of perforations that extend between top and bottom surfaces of the product receiving portion. The cover is releasably coupled to the base in a product-covering position in which the cover overlies the product receiving portion of the base. In the operative position, the biological product engages the top surface of the product receiving portion and the bottom surface of the cover.

Specimen removal device with gas venting
A removal pouch that is utilized for removing body tissue from the interior of the body as part of a minimally invasive surgical procedure. The specimen removal pouch includes an elongated body and a gas vent. The elongated body has an interior portion to collect specimen from a body cavity of a patient. The gas vent is configured to allow passage of gas from the interior portion of the elongated body to an external environment during removal of the pouch from within the body cavity of a patient.
