Integratable biopsy unit and mammography device

A biopsy unit is for fixing to a mammography device. In an embodiment, the biopsy unit includes a fixing device and a receptacle for a biopsy needle. The biopsy unit is permanently connectable to the mammography device, and wherein the biopsy unit is pivotable between a rest state and an operating state.

System having anchored interface for shaping and positioning a tissue body

A tissue positioning system for contouring a patient tissue volume includes an axially displaceable interface having a surface configured to engage a breast or other tissue volume. A low pressure source applies a partial low pressure to the surface of the displaceable interface to secure the tissue volume to the surface, and the axially displaceable interface is biased to pull and contour the tissue volume when the tissue volume is secured to the surface. The axially displaceable interface is typically mounted on a telescoping support and the biasing is provided by the same low pressure used to secure the tissue volume.

Devices for guiding tissue treatment and/or tissue removal procedures

The present disclosure includes customized guidance devices in the form of guidance templates configured to fit over a given area of a patient's body and provide guidance during a tissue treatment or tissue removal procedure of that given area, which may include administration of an agent to a target tissue, target tissue biopsy, target tissue resection, or target tissue ablation. The customized guidance templates are generally constructed via an additive manufacturing process (i.e., three-dimensional (3D) printing) or subtractive manufacturing process (i.e., milling) based on a fabrication instruction file, which may include imaging data of the given area of the patient's body in which targeted tissue treatment is to be performed. The fabrication instruction file may further include additional data, such as the type of procedure to be performed (i.e., biopsy of the tissue abnormality, destruction or resection of the tissue abnormality, etc.).

Breast biopsy lateral arm system

A breast biopsy lateral arm system includes a removable gun mount which attaches to a carriage that traverses along an X-axis defined by a lateral arm in order to position a biopsy needle relative to a patient. The carriage rides along the lateral arm on self-adjusting rollers which are loaded against the lateral arm by spring members. A cam-actuated carriage slide lock can be used to secure the carriage in a desired position relative to the lateral arm. A cam-actuated removable gun mount lock allows the gun mount to be quickly changed and offset orthogonally with respect to the X-axis. An X-axis stop can be used to establish a position to which the carriage can be returned with accuracy.

Customized surgical guide and customized surgical guide generating method and generating program

The present invention relates to a customized surgical guide device and a customized surgical guide generating method and program. A customized surgical guide generating method comprises the steps of: acquiring body surface data and treatment area data from medical image data by a computer; a first shape data generating step, wherein the first shape data is data which corresponds to the shape of the body part cover; a target point setting step of setting one or more target points; setting individual first points on the body surface accessible to the target point with a medical tool; setting a guide tube length on the basis of a distance from the first point to the target point; and generating final shape data in which one or more guide tubes are combined to the first shape data by applying the guide tube length to the first point.
