Device to Reduce Steam Pops and Increase Tissue Stability During Radiofrequency Ablation

The present invention is directed to a system for delivering radiofrequency ablation energy to an area or volume of tissue. The system includes a wrap, where a stiffening element surrounds an opening in the wrap, where the stiffening element transfers radial compression to the area or volume of tissue, where the radial compression increases stability of the area or volume of tissue; and at least one radiofrequency ablation probe having an active electrode, where the at least one radiofrequency ablation probe is connected to a radiofrequency generator via a lead. A device that includes a wrap and a method of delivering radiofrequency ablation energy to a volume of tissue via the device are also described.

A medical treatment or testing mask includes a first profile having a first fastening mechanism, and a second profile, that is separate from the first profile, having a second fastening mechanism that is fastenable to the first fastening mechanism. The mask further includes a first sheet of thermoplastic material attached to the first profile and to the second profile, wherein, when the second fastening mechanism is fastened to the first fastening mechanism, the first profile and the second profile create a single frame structure.

BODY PART FIXATION DEVICE WITH PITCH AND/OR ROLL ADJUSTMENT

A structure includes a base comprising a first ramp and an opposing, second ramp. The structure further includes a shell frame having an inner surface configured to a shape of a body part and an outer convex surface, wherein the outer convex surface of the shell frame rides upon, and moves relative to, upper surfaces of the first ramp and the second ramp to enable a pitch of the shell frame to be adjusted relative to the base.

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IMAGE GUIDED ACCURACY VERIFICATION

A method includes receiving during a first time interval associated with a path of motion of a dynamic body, image data associated with a plurality of images of the dynamic body. The plurality of images include an indication of a position of a first marker coupled to a garment at a first location, and a position of a second marker coupled to the garment at a second location. The garment is coupled to the dynamic body. During a second time interval, an image from the plurality of images is automatically identified that includes a position of the first marker that is substantially the same as a position of a first localization element relative to the dynamic body and a position of the second marker that is substantially the same as a position of the second localization element relative to the dynamic body.

A head immobilization system for immobilizing a patient's head in a supine position of the patient includes a support rail structure adapted to be coupled to a patient rest. The system can further include a mask frame adapted to be coupled to at least one deformable upper mask sheet. The mask frame is releasably connected to the support rail structure via a first interface section and a second interface section, with at least two pins protruding from the first interface section in a first direction, and at least two pin-receptions provided at the second interface section. Each one of the pin-receptions receives one of the pins. A catch-mechanism for each pin-reception and each corresponding pin allows the pin to be pushed further into the pin-reception in the first direction, but interlocks in case of an attempted withdrawal of the pin from the pin-reception in a second, opposite direction.
