HANDS FREE MEDICAL LIGHT WITH SELECTIVE INTENSITY
A hands free integrated personal task lighting system for dental or surgical use providing remote control light activation and selective adjustable light intensity output. A fixed output value light source on a headset has an electronically activated variable transmission glass which changes transparency to degrees of translucentness by varied electrical activation. The light system provides both remote light activation and illumination value control by variable control sensors in a hands-free environment.
MEDICAL HANDLING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A HANDLING DEVICE
A medical handling device comprises an instrument holder for holding an observation instrument that is equipped with an image capturing unit for capturing an image section of an object plane. The handling device further comprises a robotic handling unit that supports the instrument holder and a control device that comprises a handling control unit for controlling the robotic handling unit and an instrument control unit for controlling the observation instrument. An input device is coupled to the control device for selecting an image section to be reproduced. The control device is adapted to detect a present orientation of the observation instrument and to control the robotic handling unit, while taking into account the present orientation of the observation instrument, in response to user inputs at the input device. The observation instrument is movable with respect to a pivot point in the object plane at a defined object distance along a curved path.
Rapid pulse electrohydraulic (EH) shockwave generator apparatus and methods for medical and cosmetic treatments
Apparatuses and methods for electrohydraulic generation of Shockwaves at a rate of between 10 Hz and 5 MHz, and/or that permit a user to view a region of a patient comprising target cells during application of generated Shockwaves to the region. Methods of applying electro-hydraulically generated Shockwaves to target tissues (e.g., for reducing the appearance of tattoos, treatment or reduction of certain conditions and/or maladies).
Magnification device and assembly
A vision enhancing assembly including a carrier device and one or more magnification devices coupled to the carrier device is disclosed. The magnification device including a housing having an objective lens at a distal end and an eye lens at a proximal open end is disclosed. The housing includes an optical system including one or more objective lenses adjacent the distal end, and one or more eye lenses adjacent the proximal end, the optical system producing a desired level of magnification and a filtering system having at least one of at least one first lens or at least one second lens, wherein an optical density of the at least one first lens and the optical density of the at least one second lens is determined based on a magnification level of the optical system and a position of the at least one of the at least one first lens and the at least one second lens with respect to at least one of: the objective lens and the eye lens.
Medical observation apparatus
There is provided a wearable medical observation apparatus used by being worn on a head of a user, including: a first observation section having a configuration enabling a first observation of an observation target through an optical system including at least an objective lens; a second observation section having a configuration enabling a second observation of an observation target by a first medical observation image in which the observation target is imaged by a first imaging device; and a control section configured to control an observation state of the observation target.
Operating microscope
An operating microscope (2, 48) for observing an eye (77) is provided. The operating microscope (2, 48) comprises a main objective (5) and a fundus imaging system (71) that is positionable in the beam path (7) between the eye (77) and the main objective (5), said fundus imaging system having an ophthalmoscopy magnifier (73). The main objective (5) of the operating microscope (2, 48) has a focal length in the range between 90 mm and 160 mm. The fundus imaging system (71) also can comprise an optics group (81), the dispersion properties of which are matched to the dispersion properties of the ophthalmoscopy magnifier (73) in such a way that the optics group (81) compensates a chromatic aberration of the ophthalmoscopy magnifier (73).

Head-mounted medical/dental accessories with voice-controlled operation
Head-mounted accessories for surgeons and medical/dental practitioners are equipped with no-touch, hands-free controls. A voice-activated headlamp includes a controller operative to send a signal to control a light source in accordance with a voice command received through an integrated or remote microphone. The voice command and control may be speaker-dependent or speaker-independent, and the head-mounted unit may include an interface to a computer for voice-command training or other purposes. The head-mounted unit includes a memory for storing the voice commands. The invention may be used to control other medical/dental accessories such as a head-mounted video camera, in which case the controller is further operative to at least turn the video camera ON or OFF. More preferably, a controller is additionally operative to control the focus or zoom of the video camera in accordance with a voice command.
CROSS POLARIZED SURGICAL LOUPES
A surgical loupe system includes one or more polarization filters for producing and/or blocking polarized light. A light source is directed through a polarization filter to a patient's tissues, producing returned light. The returned light may be magnified.
Medical imaging device and methods of use
Embodiments related to medical imaging devices including rigid imaging tips and their methods of use for identifying abnormal tissue within a surgical bed are disclosed.
