DEVICE TO PROMOTE BILATERAL SYMMETRY IN SURGICAL MARKINGS
20220346906 · 2022-11-03 · ·

A device improves the outcome of bilateral eyelid, facial or other procedures, by improving the accuracy of bilateral pre surgical markings. The device may include a mirror, a camera, and a projector, where the projector projects an image captured by the camera onto a patient. Improved accuracy may be achieved using the device by projecting the mirror image of a pre-surgically marked reference eyelid or other body area onto the area of the other eyelid or contralateral body area that is similarly to be operated upon.

3D stereoscopic camera monitoring system and method of calibrating a camera monitoring system for monitoring a patient in a bore of a medical system for radiation treatment
11612762 · 2023-03-28 · ·

A camera monitoring system for a bore based medical apparatus is described, wherein the camera monitoring system comprises a first and a second image sensor mounted on opposing surfaces of a circuit board. The first image sensor is arranged to view an object from a first viewpoint via a first lens arrangement and a first mirror and the second image sensor is arranged to view the object from a second viewpoint via a second lens arrangement and a second mirror. By having the image sensors view an object via the mirrors, via the lens arrangements, the lens arrangements contribute to the effective separation of the first and second viewpoints enabling the size of the housing of the camera to be reduced. Furthermore, a method for calibrating a camera monitoring system in a bore based setup is described and also a configuration of arranging a camera monitoring system in connection with a bore based medical apparatus.

Setup of surgical robots using an augmented mirror display

Assisting robotic arm setup in a surgical robotic system using augmented reality can include capturing a live video of a user setting up a robotic arm in a surgical robotic system. A visual guide representing a target pose of the robotic arm can be rendered onto the live video, resulting in an augmented live video for guiding the arm setup. The augmented live video can be displayed to the user while the user is following the visual guide to set up the robotic arm. The captured live video can be continuously processed to determine whether the robotic arm has reached the target pose.

Surgery 3D Visualization Apparatus

An apparatus for obtaining an image of a retina has an optical relay that defines an optical path and is configured to relay an image of the iris along the optical path to a pupil; a shutter disposed at the pupil and configured to define at least a first shutter aperture for control of light transmission through the pupil position; a tube lens disposed to direct light from the shutter aperture to an image sensor; and a prismatic input port disposed between the shutter and the tube lens and configured to combine, onto the optical path, light from the relay with light conveyed along a second light path that is orthogonal to the optical path.

Graphical user interface for displaying automatically segmented individual parts of anatomy in a surgical navigation system

A surgical navigation system includes a source of a patient anatomy data, wherein the patient anatomy data comprises a three-dimensional reconstruction of a segmented model comprising at least two sections representing parts of the anatomy. A surgical navigation image generator is configured to generate a surgical navigation image comprising the patient anatomy. A 3D display system is configured to show the surgical navigation image wherein the display of the patient anatomy is selectively configurable such that at least one section of the anatomy is displayed and at least one other section of the anatomy is not displayed.

Lighting arrangement for a medical imaging system

A lighting arrangement for a medical imaging system having a cylindrical wall that forms a tunnel that receives a patient to be scanned. The lighting arrangement includes a transparent wall section formed in the wall, wherein the transparent wall section extends along a transparent portion of a wall circumference. The imaging system also includes a lighting device located adjacent an outer surface of the transparent wall section. The lighting device extends along a device portion of a wall circumference corresponding to the transparent portion wherein light emitted by the lighting device is transmitted through the transparent wall section in a direction orthogonal to a longitudinal axis of the tunnel to circumferentially illuminate the tunnel. In addition, a system status is indicated by a color of light emitted by the LEDs. Further, light emitted by the lighting device varies in intensity to indicate a changing count rate.
