The apparatus includes a case to secure the electronic device such that the electronic device is secured to the case and does not move relative to the case. The case includes an opening to couple with at least a portion of the medical tool. The electronic device is secured relative to the medical tool through the coupling of the case to the at least the portion of the medical tool. The electronic device simulates a three-dimensional position of the surgical hardware device in a body using a diagnostic representation of at least a portion of the body, and the electronic device is secured in the case and coupled to the medical tool assists with the alignment of the medical.

Compact Robotic Endoscope
20230128303 · 2023-04-27 ·

A medical endoscope that has a reusable portion to which either of two different single-use portions can be snapped in by hand to thereby form two different assembled endoscopes. When one of the single-use portions is assembled with the reusable portion, a motor in the reusable portion robotically rotates a cannula about a proximal end of the single use portion. When the other single-use portion is assembled with the reusable portion, the motor robotically angulates the distal end of the cannula. Another medical endoscope is single-use in its entirety and has motor-driven angulation of the cannula's distal end. Another has manually controlled angulation.

A system includes a uterine manipulator having a shaft. The uterine manipulator is coupled with a robotic arm. An imaging instrument is operable to provide an image of an exterior of the uterus of the patient. A user input feature is configured to transition between an engaged state and a non-engaged state. In the engaged state, the user input feature is operable to control movement of the robotic arm to thereby drive movement of the uterine manipulator. A console includes a display screen and is configured to provide a view from the imaging instrument of the exterior of the uterus of the patient, on the display screen. The console is further configured to provide an indicator on the view from the imaging instrument, on the display screen, the indicator indicating whether the user input feature is in the engaged state or the non-engaged state.

Medical imaging apparatus providing AR-support

Provided is a medical imaging apparatus having an AR-visualization module operably coupled to a camera and to a position determination module, which is adapted to create an AR-image based on an image received from the camera and an AR-overlay positionally registered with the image, and which includes a display interface adapted to transmit the created AR-image to a medical display.

Computer-assisted arthroplasty system

A computer-implemented method for creating an activity-optimized cutting guides for surgical procedures includes receiving one or more pre-operative images depicting one or more anatomical joints of a patient, and creating a three-dimensional anatomical model of the one or more anatomical joints based on the one or more pre-operative images. One or more patient-specific anatomical measurements are determined based on the three-dimensional anatomical model. A statistical model of joint performance is applied to the patient-specific anatomical measurements to identify one or more cut angles for performing a surgical procedure. A patient-specific cutting guide is created that comprises one or more apertures positioned based on the one or more cut angles.

Patient-matched apparatus for use in augmented reality assisted surgical procedures and methods for using the same

The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for robotic, computer-aided or virtual/augmented reality assisted procedures, including with use a of patient-specific or patient-matched, customized apparatus for assisting in various surgical procedures. In varying embodiments, patient-specific guides may comprise embedded markers, chips, circuits, or other registerable components for providing information to a robotic or computer-aided device. Other apparatus described herein may be aligned and/or matched with the robotic or augmented reality equipment or another apparatus during a surgical procedure.

Redundant communication channels and processing of imaging feeds

A computing system may use redundant communication pathways for communicating surgical imaging feed(s). The computing system may obtain multiple surgical video streams via multiple pathways. The multiple surgical video streams may include copies of the same video. The surgical video streams may be obtained, for example, from the same intra-body imaging feed, such as intra-body visual light feed. For example, a first video stream may be obtained via a communication pathway, and a second video stream may be obtained via another communication pathway. The computing system may display or send a surgical video stream for display. The computing system may whether the video stream being displayed has encountered any issues. Upon detecting an issue with the video stream being displayed, the computing system may display or send another obtained surgical video stream for display.

A stretch-measurement probe includes an elongate outer sleeve, expansion feature associated with a distal portion of the outer sleeve, and an elongate inner rod disposed at least partially within the outer sleeve. The expansion feature is configured to allow a longitudinal distance between a proximal end of the outer sleeve and the distal end of the outer sleeve to be varied.

System and method for location determination using a mixed reality device and multiple imaging cameras

A system and method for determining a location for a surgical jig in a surgical procedure includes providing a mixed reality headset, a 3D spatial mapping camera, an infrared or stereotactic camera, and a computer system configured to transfer data to and from the mixed reality headset and the 3D spatial mapping camera. The system and method also include attaching a jig to a bone, mapping the bone and jig using the 3D spatial mapping camera, and then identifying a location for the surgical procedure using the computer system. Then the system and method use the mixed reality headset to provide a visualization of the location for the surgical procedure.

A surgical instrument assembly may include a processor, a surgical instrument configured to operate on an anatomical structure, and a display coupled to the processor and attached to the surgical instrument. The processor can be configured to determine a position of the medical imaging device, from which the medical imaging device can generate an X-ray image that includes holes of an intramedullary nail shown as circles, for instance perfect circles. In an example, the processor identifies the intramedullary nail, so as to determine an intramedullary nail identity, and determines the position of the medical imaging device based on a portion of at least two locking holes of the intramedullary nail and based on the intramedullary nail identity.
