STEREOSCOPIC CAMERA WITH FLUORESCENCE STROBING BASED VISUALIZATION
A stereoscopic camera with fluorescence strobing based visualization is disclosed herein. In an example, a stereoscopic camera is configured to provide a visible light mode for a first specified number of frames over a cycle by causing visible light reflected from a surgical site to be provided to left and right image sensors by activating a visible light source. The stereoscopic camera is also configured to provide a fluorescence mode for a second specified number of frames over the cycle by causing fluorescence emission light from the surgical site to be provided to the left and right image sensors by activating a near-ultraviolet light source. The stereoscopic camera switches between the visible light mode and the fluorescence mode based on the first and second specified number of frames. A processor superimposes image data corresponding to the fluorescence mode on subsequently received image data corresponding to the visible light mode.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEDICAL OBJECT TRACKING IN OBSTRUCTED ENVIRONMENTS
Systems and methods for radio-frequency-based location determination in a draped environment can include an active beacon and a control device in communication with a plurality of radio frequency (RF) transceivers. The RF transceivers can be configured to emit an RF signal responsive to transmission instructions from the control device. The active beacon can be configured to transmit a modified RF signal responsive to receipt of the RF signal from any of the plurality of RF transceivers, where the frequency value of the signal from the active beacon is shifted by an amount from the received RF signal. The plurality of RF transceivers then receive the modified RF signals. The control device can be configured to determine a location of the active beacon based upon the received modified RF signals. The draped environment can include draping material that is substantially transparent to the RF signals.
AUGMENTED REALITY SOFT TISSUE BIOPSY AND SURGERY SYSTEM
The combination of a marker system with binocular AR glasses to create a soft tissue procedure system used for surgery, biopsies, etc. A marker localization system is functionally integrated with augmented reality (AR) glasses. This soft tissue system can be applicable for AR surgeries in soft tissues involving mobile and static anatomies anywhere in the body, such as for example, breast, soft tissue, lungs, lymph nodes, liver surgeries, etc. By the placement of single or multiple markers and localizing the markers with a locator, such as a hand-held locator as a non-limiting example, the above-mentioned system provides a real-time intraoperative coordinate frame for the virtual projection of the markers (and the associated ROI) on/in the surgical field/biopsy field of view, using commercial off-the-shelf computer hardware (laptops, tablets, etc.) for the required image processing.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR INTERLEAVED SURGICAL IMAGING
Systems and methods for receiving data characterizing a plurality of images of a surgical region that includes a first target tissue. The plurality of images include a plurality images associated with visible light images, a plurality of images associated with a first wavelength and a plurality of images associated with the second wavelength that is different from the first wavelength. The method also includes generating a first scene by at least overlaying a first set of images of the plurality of images. The first set of images are temporally contiguous and include a first image associated with the first wavelength, a second image associated with visible light, and a third image associated with the second wavelength. The image further includes generating a second scene by at least overlaying a second set of images of the plurality of images. The second set of images are temporally contiguous.
METHOD FOR OPERATING SURGICAL INSTRUMENT SYSTEMS
A method for adjusting the operation of a surgical instrument using machine learning in a surgical suite is disclosed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MONITORING PATIENT MOVEMENT
Systems and methods for monitoring patient movement are provided. A first dataset containing information about a first tracking device and a second tracking device may be received. A second dataset containing information about the first tracking device and the second tracking device may be received. The first dataset and the second dataset may be compared to determine if a relative pose of the first tracking device and the second tracking device has changed. A notification may be generated when the relative pose of the first tracking device and the second tracking device has changed.
Method for generating a reference information item of an eye, more particularly an optically displayed reference rhexis, and ophthalmic surgical apparatus
An aspect of the disclosure relates to a method for generating a reference information item of an eye, wherein at least one characterization information item that characterizes a rhexis size and/or a rhexis position of a potential actual rhexis on an anterior capsular bag wall of the eye is input into an input unit of an ophthalmic surgical apparatus and, depending on the characterization information item, a reference rhexis is determined as at least a constituent part of the reference information item of the eye by an evaluation unit of the ophthalmic surgical apparatus, wherein the determined reference rhexis is optically displayed by an optical display unit of the ophthalmic surgical apparatus. The disclosure further relates to an ophthalmic surgical apparatus.
System and method to detect and track surgical instruments and/or surgical material
Certain embodiments may relate to apparatuses and methods for performing surgical procedures. For example, a method may comprise initiating detection and tracking of at least one surgical instrument (including associated surgical material) within a surgical area. The method may further comprise performing a surgical procedure with the at least one surgical instrument and material and ending detection and tracking of the at least one surgical instrument and material within the surgical area. The method may further comprise displaying at least one indication of location status of the at least one surgical instrument.
System and method for viewing a subject
A viewing system or imaging system is disclosed that includes optical pieces for viewing a subject. The viewing system may include features that allow an augmented mixed view through eyepieces of the viewing system. The mixed view may include graphical representations that are acquired or determined with information separate from the viewing system.
Systems and methods for persistent ureter visualization
A method for visualizing tissue of a subject includes receiving a first series of first imaging modality frames generated by imaging a region of tissue of the subject, and a first series of second imaging modality frames generated by imaging the region of tissue; displaying the first series of first imaging modality frames in combination with the first series of second imaging modality frames; storing a plurality of first imaging modality frames and a plurality of second imaging modality frames of the first series of second imaging modality frames in a memory; receiving a second series of first imaging modality frames generated by imaging the region of tissue; and displaying the second series of first imaging modality frames in combination with one or more of the second imaging modality frames of the first series of second imaging modality frames stored in the memory for visualizing the region of tissue.
