SYSTEM FOR GENERATING IMAGES FOR A FLUOROSCOPY-BASED NAVIGATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a method and a data processing system for generating navigable images of at least one region of interest ROI of a patient for a fluoroscopy-based navigation system using an X-ray imaging system, a localization system and an imaging kit, said imaging kit being configured to allow images registration in a preferred referential and tracking of surgical tools.
Intervertebral disc and insertion methods therefor
A method of inserting an intervertebral disc implant into a disc space includes accessing a spinal segment having a first vertebral body, a second vertebral body and a disc space between the first and second vertebral bodies. The method includes securing a first pin to the first vertebral body and a second pin to the second vertebral body, using the first and second pins for distracting the disc space, and providing an inserter holding the intervertebral disc implant. The method also desirably includes engaging the inserter with the first and second pins, and advancing the inserter toward the disc space for inserting the intervertebral disc implant into the disc space, whereby the first and second pins align and guide the inserter toward the disc space.
MULTI-SHIELD SPINAL ACCESS SYSTEM
An access device for accessing an intervertebral disc having an outer shield comprising an access shield with a larger diameter (˜16-30 mm) that reaches from the skin down to the facet line, with an inner shield having a second smaller diameter (˜5-12 mm) extending past the access shield and reaches down to the disc level. This combines the benefits of the direct visual microsurgical/mini open approaches and the percutaneous, “ultra-MIS” techniques.
Spinal Surgery Navigation
A system for aiding surgery on a patient is described including a display device and a storage device that stores an image of at least a portion of the anatomy of the patient, including one or more surgical navigation markers positioned on the patient, for display on the display device. An analyser is adapted to receive positional data of a probe based on positioning of the probe relative to the one or more markers on the patient. Based on the positional data, the analyser outputs correctional data to adjust an alignment of the image on the display device to match locations of said one or more markers.
SOFT TISSUE BALANCING IN ARTICULAR SURGERY
Systems and methods may be used to perform robot-aided surgery. A system may include a robotic controller to monitor a position and orientation of an end effector coupled to an end of a robotic arm. The robotic controller may apply a force to a bone using the end effector, such as via a soft tissue balancing component. The robotic controller may determine soft tissue balance using information from a tracking system, such as a position of a first tracker affixed to the bone. The soft tissue balance may be output, such as to a display device.
DENTAL IMPLANT POSITIONING
Methods, devices, systems, and series of appliances are provided for dental implant positioning. One method for positioning an implant with dental treatment includes determining an implant location based on a virtual model of an optimized dental occlusion, moving one or more teeth using a first number of a series of dental appliances, from a first orientation to a second orientation, the second orientation exposing the implant location, placing an implant at the exposed implant location using a landmark included in at least one of the series of dental appliances, repositioning one or more teeth using a second number of the series of dental appliances, from the second orientation to a successive orientation.
Device, method and system for registration
The application provides a device, method and system for registration. The registration device includes a fixing member; a frame connected to the fixing member, at least one trackable element mounted on the frame; and a collection device connected to the fixing member, wherein the collection device is configured to simultaneously collect multiple point data from an object to be registered. The registration method includes obtaining simultaneously, by a registration device, a point cloud data from a surface of a cartilage of an object to be registered; and performing surface fitting based on the point cloud data to obtain a fitted surface of the cartilage of the object to be registered. The registration system includes the registration device; a first point cloud data acquisition module, configured to receive the point cloud data from the collection device; and a surface fitting module, configured for surface fitting with the point cloud data.
System and method for medical object tracking
According to one aspect of the invention, a system for medical object tracking is provided. The system includes a plurality of radio frequency transceivers where each of the plurality of radio frequency transceivers are configured to emit a radio frequency signal at a respective frequency. The system includes a radio frequency beacon removably attachable to a medical object where the radio frequency beacon configured to: reflect the radio frequency signals from the plurality of radio frequency transceivers, and emit vibration-based signals. The system includes a control device in communication with the plurality of radio frequency transceivers where the control device includes processing circuitry configured to determine a location of the medical object in three-dimensional space based at least in part on the reflected radio frequency signals and vibration-based signals.
COMPUTER-ASSISTED ARTHROPLASTY SYSTEM
A computer-implemented method for creating an activity-optimized cutting guides for surgical procedures includes receiving one or more pre-operative images depicting one or more anatomical joints of a patient, and creating a three-dimensional anatomical model of the one or more anatomical joints based on the one or more pre-operative images. One or more patient-specific anatomical measurements are determined based on the three-dimensional anatomical model. A statistical model of joint performance is applied to the patient-specific anatomical measurements to identify one or more cut angles for performing a surgical procedure. A patient-specific cutting guide is created that comprises one or more apertures positioned based on the one or more cut angles.
Surgical marker
Embodiments of surgical markers for marking internal and external tissues are provided herein. In some embodiments, a surgical marking device for marking tissue may include a body including an at least partially hollow interior, a first end and a second end; a tip coupled to the body at the second end; and a plunger movably coupled to the body at the first end and configured to control a pressure within the at least partially hollow interior of the body via movement of the plunger relative to the body, wherein the pressure control may control a flow of ink outward of the body via the tip during use. Alternatively, in some embodiments, a squeezable bulb may be provided in place of the plunger, the squeezable bulb having an interior volume fluidly coupled to the body, wherein a pressure within the body may be controlled via the squeezable bulb.
