DEVICES AND METHODS FOR REMOTE THERAPY AND PATIENT MONITORING
20220378359 · 2022-12-01 ·

Systems and methods for remote therapy and patient monitoring are provided. A method comprises contacting an outer skin surface of a patient with a contact surface of a stimulator and transmitting an electrical impulse from the stimulator transcutaneously through the outer skin surface to a nerve within the patient. Data related to parameters of the electrical impulse applied to the nerve is stored and transmitted to a remote source. The data may include duration of treatment, amplitude of the electrical impulse, compliance with a prescribed therapy regimen or other relevant data related to the therapy. The method may further include collecting patient status data, such as symptoms of a medical condition (e.g., severity of a headache) before, during and/or after stimulation. The patient status data is correlated with the treatment data to monitor compliance and/or the effectiveness of the therapy.

Spatial awareness of surgical hubs in operating rooms

Various surgical hubs are disclosed. A surgical hub is for use with a surgical system in a surgical procedure performed in an operating room. The surgical hub comprises a control circuit configured to: determine bounds of the operating room; determine devices of the surgical system located within the bounds of the operating room; and pair the surgical hub with the devices of the surgical system located within the bounds of the operating room.

SNARE

Disclosed herein is a snare. The snare includes: a tube injected into a body; a wire movably inserted into the tube; a noose joined to a leading end of the wire and ablating a polyp as an internal area expands or contracts by passing through an end of the tube; and at least one identification marker formed along the noose.

NEAR INFRARED BREAST TUMOR MARKER
20230165659 · 2023-06-01 · ·

A biopsy marker that can emit near infrared fluorescence for location of a biopsy site. The biopsy marker has a body formed from a polymer and a quantity of a near infrared fluorescent dye, such as indocyanine green, embedded in the polymer. A near infrared energy source is used to excite the near infrared fluorescent dye. A near infrared energy detector is used to detect any near infrared emissions from the biopsy marker. As a result, any and all biopsy markers within the field of view may be readily identified and located so that the tissue locations can be surgical removed if the tissue samples indicate a risk of cancerous tissue.

CAPTURE TOOL

A capture-tool for manipulation of tissue utilizes vacuum to hold the tissue in place. An extension attached to a vacuum source at one end and a vacuum arm at another end creates a vacuum force through the extension and vacuum arm. The vacuum arm has a support surface with ports therein at which low pressure areas are formed by the vacuum force. The low pressure areas draw tissue against the supporting surface to hold it in place, as long as the vacuum force is active.

SURGICAL ROBOT PLATFORM
20220054206 · 2022-02-24 ·

A medical robot system, including a robot coupled to an effectuator element with the robot configured for controlled movement and positioning. The system may include a transmitter configured to emit one or more signals, and the transmitter is coupled to an instrument coupled to the effectuator element. The system may further include a motor assembly coupled to the robot and a plurality of receivers configured to receive the one or more signals emitted by the transmitter. A control unit is coupled to the motor assembly and the plurality of receivers, and the control unit is configured to supply one or more instruction signals to the motor assembly. The instruction signals can be configured to cause the motor assembly to selectively move the effectuator element

SURGICAL STAPLING INSTRUMENT HAVING A RELEASABLE BUTTRESS MATERIAL

A surgical stapler including an anvil, a staple cartridge, and a buttress material removably retained to the anvil and/or staple cartridge. In various embodiments, the staple cartridge can include at least one staple removably stored therein which can, when deployed, or fired, therefrom, contact the buttress material and remove the buttress material from the anvil and/or staple cartridge. In at least one embodiment, the anvil can include at least one lip and/or groove configured to removably retain the buttress material to the anvil until deformable members extending from the surgical staple are bent by the anvil and are directed toward and contact the buttress material.

SURGICAL ARTICLES AND METHODS FOR DETECTION
20170303817 · 2017-10-26 ·

Provided herein are articles that comprise a fluorophore (such as a near infrared (NIR) agent or a fluorescent protein) affixed to a surgical article. Methods of detecting the surgical article within the body cavity of a subject are also provided. In some aspects, the detection of a surgical article left within the body cavity of the subject can occur prior to closing the body cavity after a surgical procedure. Methods of making the surgical articles are also provided.

Peroperative sensing head adapted to be coupled to an ablation tool

A peroperative probe for guiding a manual excision tool. The probe includes a detection head, an optical fiber for the reception and guidance of a signal emitted by radioactive tracers and fluorescent molecules in a tissue area, a photo-detector for converting the emitted signal into an electrical signal, a transmitter for transmitting information carried by the electrical signal to an analysis equipment, and a fastener for attaching the probe onto the manual excision tool, so that the excision tool can be used to remove a portion of tissue from the tissue area emitting the signal.

ENDOLUMINAL ROBOTIC (ELR) SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Endoluminal robotic systems and corresponding methods include subsystems for visualization, navigation, pressure sensing, platform compatibility, and user interfaces. The user interfaces may be implemented by one or more of a console, haptics, image fusion, voice controls, remote support, and multi-system controls.
