ENDOVASCULAR ORIFICE DETECTION DEVICE FOR ACCURATE FENESTRATED STENT GRAFT DEPLOYMENT
An endovascular apparatus can comprise an array of emitters configured to emit light at a predetermined wavelength and an array of sensors configured to detect light emitted by the emitters and reflected off a surface. The device can be configured to be inserted into a stent within a blood vessel of a patient and the device can be configured to detect the location of a branch blood vessel based on the reflected light detected by the array of sensors. Some devices detect light through a stent wall from an emitter positioned in the branch vessel. Some devices include fiber optics or phototransistors for receiving light from the emitter. Some devices include a fenestration former and a guidewire director along with the light receivers all in one endovascular device.
Tracker With Switchable Radiation Characteristics
A tracker, a surgical navigation system with the tracker, and a method of operating the tracker are described. The tracker comprises a first switch configured to be operated between a first switch configuration and a second switch configuration. The tracker also comprises one or more sources of electromagnetic radiation configured to selectively emit electromagnetic radiation with a first radiation characteristic or a second radiation characteristic. The tracker further comprises electrical circuitry configured to selectively control the one or more sources of electromagnetic radiation to emit electromagnetic radiation having the first radiation characteristic in the first switch configuration and to emit electromagnetic radiation having the second radiation characteristic in the second switch configuration, wherein the second radiation characteristic is different from the first radiation characteristic.
CELLULITE TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHODS
Systems and methods for treating cellulite including an apparatus that applies or a method involving separating septa to eliminate or reduce the appearance of cellulite. In one approach, an interventional tool is placed between tissue layers to engage and treat septa connecting tissue layers between which fat deposits are contained.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DEFINING A WORK VOLUME
A method for determining a work volume includes receiving image information from an imaging device corresponding to an array of tracking markers fixed to a flexible mesh, the mesh placed over a patient and over at least one surgical instrument adjacent to or connected to the patient; determining a position of each tracking marker in the array of tracking markers based on the image information; defining a boundary for movement of a robotic arm based on determined tracking marker positions, such that the robotic arm does not contact the patient or the at least one surgical instrument during movement of the robotic arm; and controlling the robotic arm based on the defined boundary.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ALIGNING A PROSTHESIS DURING SURGERY
Presented are methods and systems for determining, monitoring, and displaying the relative positioning of two rigid bodies during surgery. In particular, the present disclosure relates to methods and systems for positioning a prosthesis relative to a bone during a surgery as well as to systems and methods for verifying resulting relative positioning of adjacent bones.
LIGHT-POWERED LIGHT-EMITTING TISSUE MARKER
Method and related system for marker-based navigation. A first image is capturing (S530) with a medical imaging apparatus (ENDO), whilst a light source (LS1) of an implanted marker device (MD) is in a low intensity state and a second light source (LS2) of the medical imaging apparatus (IA) is in a high intensity state, higher than the low intensity state of the marker. A second image is captured (S560) with the medical imaging apparatus (ENDO), whilst the light source (LS1) of the implanted marker device is in a high intensity state and the second light source (LS2) of the medical imaging apparatus (IA) is in a low intensity state, lower than the high intensity state of the marker. The two images may then be combined to obtain a combined image that represents the location of the marker at high signal-to-noise-ratio.
ASSEMBLY FOR COUPLING A PATIENT REFERENCE ARRAY TO A MEDICAL IMPLANT SUCH AS A PEDICLE SCREW
In an embodiment, a system attaches a patient reference array of a computer-assisted surgery system to a patient. The system includes a fixation post having a shaft having proximal and distal ends that are offset from. A threaded fastener is coupled to the shaft at the distal end that rotates relative to the shaft so as to engage internal threads of a pedicle screw, thereby causing the distal end of the shaft to translate in the anchor seat and urge the pedicle screw to transition from an unlocked configuration to a locked configuration. The attachment assembly has an arm that supports the patient reference array, and a coupler supported by the arm. The coupler has a fixation body that defines a recess that receives at least a portion of the fixation post, and an actuator that secures the attachment assembly to the fixation post.
Passive tags, and systems and methods for using them
Markers, microwave probes, and related systems and methods are provided for localizing lesions within a patient's body, e.g., within a breast. The marker includes an energy converter e.g., one or more photodiodes, for transforming energy pulses striking the marker into electrical energy, a switch, e.g., FET, coupled to the photodiodes such that light from a probe cause the switch to open and close. A pair of antenna wires are coupled to the switch to provide an antenna, the switch configured to open and close when light strikes the photodiodes to modulate signals from the probe reflected by the antenna back to the probe to identify the location of the marker. The marker also includes an electro static discharge (ESD) protection device coupled to the switch to provide protection against an electrostatic discharge event.
Systems and methods comprising localization agents
Provided herein are systems and methods comprising localization agents. For example, provided herein are systems and methods for the placement of localization devices within biological systems and the detection of such localization devices for targeted surgeries or other medical procedures. For example, provided herein are systems comprising one or more miniature detectable devices that are placed into a target location and activated by remote introduction of a magnetic field.
Augmented reality guidance for orthopedic and other surgical procedures
