Percutaneous nerve evaluation for sacral neuromodulation
11648405 · 2023-05-16 · ·

Practitioners who use sacral neuromodulation on a regular basis have sought ways to simplify the procedure and performing percutaneous nerve evaluations in the office setting have become increasingly more popular. However, many practitioners are limited by the lack of availability of fluoroscopy in the office setting and do not feel comfortable executing the procedure without it, for a variety of reasons. The disclosed system and method demonstrate an avenue to circumvent the lack of fluoroscopic guidance in the office setting enabling execution of percutaneous nerve evaluations successfully and efficiently.

Intervertebral disc and insertion methods therefor

A method of inserting an intervertebral disc implant into a disc space includes accessing a spinal segment having a first vertebral body, a second vertebral body and a disc space between the first and second vertebral bodies. The method includes securing a first pin to the first vertebral body and a second pin to the second vertebral body, using the first and second pins for distracting the disc space, and providing an inserter holding the intervertebral disc implant. The method also desirably includes engaging the inserter with the first and second pins, and advancing the inserter toward the disc space for inserting the intervertebral disc implant into the disc space, whereby the first and second pins align and guide the inserter toward the disc space.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMPUTER AIDED SURGERY

A number of improvements are provided relating to computer aided surgery. The improvement relates to both the methods used during computer aided surgery and the devices used during such procedures. Some of the improvement relate to controlling the selection of which data to display during a procedure and/or how the data is displayed to aid the surgeon. Other improvements relate to the structure of the tools used during a procedure and how the tools can be controlled automatically to improve the efficiency of the procedure. Still other improvements relate to methods of providing feedback during a procedure to improve either the efficiency or quality, or both, for a procedure.

SYSTEMS, DEVICES AND METHODS FOR LYMPH SPECIMEN TRACKING, DRAINAGE DETERMINATION, VISUALIZATION AND TREATMENT
20230200720 · 2023-06-29 ·

Disclosed are systems and methods of lymphatic specimen tracking, visualization, and lymph node drainage pathway determination. An exemplary method includes receiving computed tomographic (CT) image data corresponding to a CT scan, generating a three-dimensional (3D) model of at least a portion of a patient's body based on the CT image data, identifying one or more lymph nodes in the 3D model, performing a registration of the 3D model with one or more physical locations in the patient's body, determining an expected lymph node drainage pathway away from a region of interest through one or more lymph nodes, and displaying the 3D model and the expected lymph node drainage pathway.

Intelligent Surgical Marker

Surgical marker systems and methods for delineating a lesion margin of a subject are provided. An example system includes a handheld probe device configured to capture an optical coherence tomography (OCT) image and a processor coupled to a memory. The handheld probe device includes a handheld probe including a fiber-optic probe assembly and a marker assembly. The processor is configured to: segment, by a neural network, each pixels of the OCT into different tissue-type categories; generate one or more feature vectors based at least in part on the segmented pixels; determine, by a one-class classifier, a boundary location in the OCT image between a normal tissue and an abnormal tissue of the tissue structure; and control the marker assembly to selectively create a visible label on a tissue location of the subject, the tissue location corresponding to the boundary location.

PENICILLIN ALLERGY TESTING KIT
20230200933 · 2023-06-29 ·

The kit evaluates the patient's skin for penicillin sensitivity. The kit comprises a container, a multi-site skin test system, five preloaded syringes, and a tattoo-type label that is transferable onto the patient's skin. A multi-site skin test applicator is cooperatively engageable with four reservoirs in a fluid tray. The applicator pierces the patient's skin as trace amounts of the allergy test fluids are simultaneously administered. The tattoo-type label is transferable onto the skin of the patient and includes a QR Code. The QR Code includes machine-readable linkage to artificial intelligence for assisting a doctor in interpreting patient test results. The doctor reviews the artificial intelligence analysis and decides either to accept the analysis or modify it. The doctor may also decide to verify negative results with a subcutaneous skin test. The five syringes are preloaded with saline, two syringes are preloaded with Pre-Pen, and two syringes are preloaded with Pen-G.

TISSUE MARKING DYE APPLICATOR, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
20230200931 · 2023-06-29 ·

In one aspect of the present disclosure, a tissue marking system is provided that includes a container and an applicator. The applicator is in the container and is removable therefrom. The applicator includes a tip, a reservoir containing sterile tissue marking dye, and a valve. The valve is configured to open and permit sterile tissue marking dye to flow from the reservoir to the tip of the applicator in response to the tip being pressed against a priming surface. In one embodiment, the system includes a substrate that is removable from the container and includes the priming surface. In another embodiment, the container includes a tray having a compartment that receives the applicator. The tray includes a well that includes the priming surface.
