Denervation therapy
Example systems and techniques for denervation, for example, renal denervation. In some examples, a processor determines one or more tissue characteristics of tissue proximate a target nerve and a blood vessel. The processor may generate, based on the one or more tissue characteristics, an estimated volume of influence of denervation therapy delivered by a therapy delivery device disposed within the blood vessel. The processor may generate a graphical user interface including a graphical representation of the tissue proximate the target nerve and the blood vessel and a graphical representation of the estimated volume of influence.
Nasal patient tracking device and method of using the same
A patient tracking device for insertion into a body cavity includes a flexible conformable sensor housing having a sensor cavity therein. The housing conforms to the body cavity when inserted therein. A sensor is disposed within the housing.
NAVIGABLE SUCTION INSTRUMENT WITH COAXIAL ANNULAR SENSOR
An apparatus includes a cannula assembly and a sensor assembly. The cannula assembly includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a first lumen extending from the proximal end to the distal end. The cannula is formed of a rigid material. The sensor assembly includes a sensor and a communication wire. The sensor is fixed to the cannula assembly. The communication wire is in electrical communication with the sensor. The communication wire extends along a length of the cannula assembly exterior to the first lumen.
Surgical instrument comprising synchronized drive systems
A surgical instrument for treating the tissue of a patient is disclosed. The surgical instrument comprises a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and an end effector. The surgical instrument further comprises a motorized drive system, a first drive system configured to perform a first end effector drive motion, wherein the first drive system is operably coupled to the motorized drive system, and a second drive system configured to perform a second end effector drive motion, wherein the second drive system is operably coupled to the motorized drive system. The surgical instrument further comprises synchronizing means for repetitively sequencing the first end effector drive motion and the second end effector drive motion.
TRACKING SYSTEM AND MARKER DEVICE TO BE TRACKED BY THE TRACKING SYSTEM FOR A MEDICAL PROCEDURE
A tracking system for tracking a marker device for being attached to a medical device is provided, whereby the marker device includes a sensing unit comprising a magnetic object which may be excited by an external magnetic or electromagnetic excitation field into a mechanical oscillation of the magnetic object, and the tracking system comprises a field generator for generating a predetermined magnetic or electromagnetic excitation field for inducing mechanical oscillations of the magnetic object, a transducer for transducing a magnetic or electromagnetic field generated by the induced mechanical oscillations of the magnetic object into one or more electrical response signals, and a position determination unit for determining the position of the marker device on the basis of the one or more electrical response signals.
Surgical instrument comprising speed control
A surgical instrument system is disclosed which comprises a control screen usable to control the surgical instrument system in real time.
SURGICAL SENSOR ANCHOR SYSTEM
Surgical systems for use in surgical procedures utilizing robotic devices. The surgical system having one or more components for housing a sensor or one or more tools for anchor or sensor delivery. The surgical system may include a surgical sensor anchor and/or a surgical sensor anchor delivery tool. A method of performing a robotically assisted surgical procedure, comprising using a surgical sensor anchor during a surgical procedure which utilizes a robot to track movement of at least one portion of a body structure undergoing a surgical procedure or to track movement of a body structure near a surgical site.
System and method for magnetic occult lesion localization and imaging
Systems and methods for marking the location and extent of an anatomical region-of-interest, such as a tumor, using magnetic seeds whose position and orientation are measured or otherwise detected using a detection device that includes two or more magnetic sensors are described. One or more magnetic seeds are implanted to mark and define the center and extent of an anatomical region-of-interest and a magnetic sensor-based detector system is used to accurately identify the location of the magnetic seeds.
SYSTEM, DEVICE AND METHODS FOR DENTAL DIGITAL IMPRESSIONS
Methods and systems for tracking a dental tool within an oral cavity for taking and/or updating of a dental impression are described. In some embodiments, a marker, optionally a magnetic marker, is coupled to position movements of a rotatable dental tool. In some embodiments, detected movements of the marker are used, optionally in combination with other tracking data, to map contours which a portion of the rotatable dental tool follows during interaction with a dental surface. Optionally, the interaction occurs during grinding, drilling, and/or other procedures; which may be preparatory, for example, to the manufacture and/or fitting of a dental prosthetic.
METHOD OF VERIFYING TRACKING ARRAY POSITIONAL ACCURACY
A method for verifying the positional accuracy of a tracking reference device is provided that includes a tracking reference device attached to a bone. The bone is then registered with respect to a coordinate frame of the tracking reference device. A verification mark on the bone is then created where the position of the verification mark is recorded, by way of a tracking system, with respect to the tracking reference device. The positional accuracy of the tracking reference device is verified by instructing an end-effector of a robotic-assisted surgical device to align with the verification mark on the bone, and wherein if the end-effector does not align with the verification mark, the positional accuracy of the tracking reference device is compromised. A surgical system for performing the computerized method is also provided.
