Surgical sensor anchor system
Surgical systems for use in surgical procedures utilizing robotic devices. The surgical system having one or more components for housing a sensor or one or more tools for anchor or sensor delivery. The surgical system may include a surgical sensor anchor and/or a surgical sensor anchor delivery tool. A method of performing a robotically assisted surgical procedure, comprising using a surgical sensor anchor during a surgical procedure which utilizes a robot to track movement of at least one portion of a body structure undergoing a surgical procedure or to track movement of a body structure near a surgical site.
System, device and methods for dental digital impressions
Methods and systems for tracking a dental tool within an oral cavity for taking and/or updating of a dental impression are described. In some embodiments, a marker, optionally a magnetic marker, is coupled to position movements of a rotatable dental tool. In some embodiments, detected movements of the marker are used, optionally in combination with other tracking data, to map contours which a portion of the rotatable dental tool follows during interaction with a dental surface. Optionally, the interaction occurs during grinding, drilling, and/or other procedures; which may be preparatory, for example, to the manufacture and/or fitting of a dental prosthetic.
Marker coil and marker coil unit
A marker coil includes a flexible substrate, a coil formed on the substrate by wiring, and a substrate holding part that is capable of being attached to a testee. A convex shape is formed in one of the substrate and the substrate holding part, and an engaging part for engaging the convex shape is formed in the other one of the substrate and the substrate holding part.
Signal tag detection components, devices, and systems
Provided herein are systems, devices, assemblies, and methods for localization of a tag in a tissue of a patient. For example, provided herein are systems, devices, and methods employing an implantable tag that emits sidebands at defined frequencies upon activation by a magnetic field generated by a remote activating device, and a plurality of witness stations configured to detect such sidebands. Also provided herein are herein are systems, devices, and methods employing a detection component that is attached to or integrated with a surgical device.
Systems and Methods for Detecting Magnetic Markers for Surgical Guidance
A detection system and method uses an implantable magnetic marker comprising at least one piece of a large Barkhausen jump material (LBJ). The marker is deployed to mark a tissue site in the body for subsequent surgery, and the magnetic detection system includes a handheld probe to excite the marker below the switching field for bistable switching of the marker causing a harmonic response to be generated in a sub-bistable mode that allows the marker to be detected and localised. The marker implanted may also be shorter than the critical length required to initiate bistable switching of the LBJ material.
Device and method for automatic recalibration for 3D intraoperative images
The invention relates to a recalibration device (1) used during the acquisition of images of an anatomical area of a patient during robot-assisted surgery, including a body (3) made of radxoliacent material, which comprises fiducial markers (9) made of radiopaque material, said body (3) having a bearing surface (7) intended to be manually placed on a surface of said anatomical area of the patient. According to the invention, said fiducial markers (9) are arranged in a specific geometrical pattern enabling a certain detection of the positioning and orientation of the recalibration device (1) in a three-dimensional digital model built from the images derived from the acquisition of the anatomical area.
Pressure sensor for being introduced into a circulatory system
The invention relates to a passive pressure sensor (501) for being introduced into the circulatory system of a human being and for being wirelessly read out by an outside reading system. The pressure sensor comprises a casing (502) with a diffusion blocking layer for maintaining a predetermined pressure within the casing and a magneto-mechanical oscillator with a magnetic object (508) providing a permanent magnetic moment. The magneto-mechanical oscillator transduces an external magnetic or electromagnetic excitation field into a mechanical oscillation of the magnetic object, wherein at least a part of the casing is flexible for allowing to transduce external pressure changes into changes of the mechanical oscillation of the magnetic object. The pressure sensor can be very small and nevertheless provide high quality pressure sensing.
Surgical instrument comprising sequenced systems
A surgical stapler for stapling the tissue of a patient is disclosed. The surgical stapler comprises a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, a plurality of staple clusters, and an end effector. The end effector comprises a tissue compression surface and an anvil movable toward the tissue compression surface during a closing stroke, an anvil closing system configured to move the anvil through the closing stroke, and a staple firing system configured to deploy a staple cluster positioned in the end effector during a staple firing stroke. The surgical stapler further comprises a tissue cutting system configured to cut the patient tissue during a tissue cutting stroke and a propulsion system configured to move the end effector relative to the patient tissue during a propulsion stroke.
Self-guiding stapling instrument
A surgical stapler for stapling the tissue of a patient is disclosed. The surgical stapler comprises a handle, a shaft extending from the handle, and an end effector extending from the shaft, wherein the end effector comprises a plurality of staples and an anvil configured to deform the staples. The surgical stapler further comprises a firing mechanism configured to deploy the staples, a sensor configured to detect a target, a controller configured to calculate the firing path based on the target, and a motorized drive system configured to move the end effector toward the target along the firing path.
TRACKING A SENSOR THAT INCLUDES A FERROFLUID
A system comprising: one or more field generating coils configured to generate a magnetic field; a sensor comprising a shell that contains a ferrofluid, the sensor configured to be introduced in proximity to the magnetic field, wherein the ferrofluid causes distortion of the magnetic field when the ferrofluid is in proximity to the magnetic field; and one or more field measuring coils configured to: measure a characteristic of the magnetic field when the ferrofluid is in proximity to the magnetic field; and provide, to a computing device, a signal representative of the measured characteristic of the magnetic field, wherein the computing device is configured to determine one or both of a position and an orientation of the sensor based on the measured characteristic of the magnetic field.
