The system is such that at least a portion of the pulses of electromagnetic radiation emitted by the emitter comprises a laser mapping pattern.

An electronic system for a surgical instrument is disclosed. The electronic system comprises a main power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a primary circuit. A supplementary power supply circuit configured to supply electrical power to a secondary circuit. A short circuit protection circuit coupled between the main power supply circuit and the supplementary power supply circuit. The supplementary power supply circuit is configured to isolate itself from the main power supply circuit when the supplementary power supply circuit detects a short circuit condition at the secondary circuit. The supplementary power supply circuit is configured to rejoin the main power supply circuit and supply power to the secondary circuit, when the short circuit condition is remedied.
ELECTROSURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH FIBER OPTIC ROTARY COUPLING
A surgical instrument includes a body, a shaft assembly extending distally from and rotatably coupled to the body, an end effector extending distally from the shaft assembly, a fiber optic cable, and a rotary coupling assembly. The end effector may rotate with the shaft assembly relative to the body. The end effector includes a sensor assembly. The fiber optic cable extends proximally from the sensor assembly, along the shaft assembly, and into the body. The fiber optic cable includes a distal portion that rotates with the end effector, a proximal portion associated with the body, and a coiled portion interposed between the distal portion and the proximal portion. The rotary coupling assembly includes a handle-side body and a shaft-side body. The rotary coupling assembly can radially expand and contract the coiled portion of the fiber optic cable in response to relative rotation between the handle-side body and the shaft-side body.

The multi-core fiber includes a plurality of optical cores dedicated for shape sensing sensors, and a plurality of optical cores dedicated for force sensing sensors. A medical device flexing structure assembly can comprise a multi-core fiber comprising a plurality of cores, and a flexing structure comprising at least one slot. Each of the plurality of cores can comprise a fiber Bragg grating, and the flexing structure can be configured to bend in response to a force imparted on the flexing structure.

Disclosed herein are methods of vascular and structural imaging using imaging systems and methods described, the methods comprising producing an image of the vasculature or structure by imaging fluorescence using an imaging system, the system comprising: i) one or more detectors configured to form a fluorescence image of the sample and form a visible image of the sample; ii) a light source configured to emit an excitation light to induce fluorescence from the sample; and iii) a plurality of optics arranged to: direct the excitation light toward the sample; and direct a fluorescent light and a visible light from the sample to the detector; wherein the excitation light and the fluorescence light are directed substantially coaxially.

A medical system is disclosed that includes a medical device having an optical fiber, and an interchangeable connection component configured to provide a fiber optic connection between the medical device and capital equipment. The connection component is configured to facilitate cleaning and/or polishing of fiber optic interfaces include therewith. The connection component is also configured for replacement by a medical technician while the capital equipment is operational. The capital equipment may include one or more of an optical interrogator, a patch cable, a medical probe, an ultrasound machine, a display, a magnet sensor, or an electro-cardiogram (ECG) machine. The medical device may include an elongate member configured for insertion within the patient body, where the optical fiber core extends along a length of the elongate member.

Medical or surgical devices, instruments, systems, and methods for use in optically sensing loads acting on a patient's anatomy may include a surgical device or instrument configured for insertion to a surgical site and an interrogator coupled to the surgical device or instrument via an optical fiber having a sensing area at a location of the surgical device or instrument at which a load is to be sensed. The measured load may be used as being indicative of a load acting on a patient's anatomy. Such measured or determined load may be used to make decisions before, during, or after a patient procedure.

The present invention relates to a contactless intelligent monitor, including: a light source, a coupler, a concave-convex noise reduction unit, a first photodetector, a second photodetector, an MCU and a terminal; the light source, coupler and concave-convex noise reduction unit are connected in sequence; the output of the concave-convex noise reduction unit is connected to the MCU through the first photodetector and the second photodetector respectively; the MCU is connected to the terminal through a communication module. The present invention can effectively reduce the interference and false alarm caused by noises in the measurement process.
