A catheter is disclosed comprising: a connector including a plurality of first contacts and one or more second contacts; a shaft including a plurality of electrodes, each electrode being coupled to a different one of the plurality of first contacts; a memory coupled to at least one of the second contacts, wherein the memory is configured to: store a pinout map identifying an order in which the plurality of electrodes is coupled to the plurality of first contacts; and provide the pinout map to an external device via one or more of the second contacts after the connector is coupled to the external device.

A medical device system for providing sensor data capture includes a medical device that may include one or more removably coupled sensor hubs and that includes a display to provide sensor data and at least one data interface (DI) port that may be a sensor-agnostic DI (SA-DI) port and a data transfer cable that may be compatible with the sensor-agnostic DI port and includes a first electromechanical connector configured to detachably couple to the SA-DI port and a second electromechanical connector configured to couple to the sensor and that includes a cable memory and processor configured to execute stored software to format sensor data according to a protocol of the SA-DI port, an authentication circuit, and a cable isolation device to limit patient leakage current flow from the medical device to the sensor and to electrically isolate the authentication circuit from the cable processor and the cable memory.

Patient monitor capable of monitoring the quality of attached probes and accessories
A system and method to help maintain quality control and reduce cannibalization of accessories and attached probes in a highly sensitive patient monitor, such as a pulse oximetry system. One or more attached components may have information elements designed to designate what quality control mechanisms a patient monitor should look to find on that or another component or designate other components with which the one component may properly work. In a further embodiment, such information elements may also include data indicating the appropriate life of the component.
Identification of device location in healthcare facility
A system for identifying a location of a device includes a first antenna mounted to a plug. The first antenna surrounds one or more prongs of the plug, and the plug has a memory that stores a device ID. A second antenna receives the device ID from the first antenna when the plug is coupled to a power outlet. A controller uses a communication module to wirelessly transfer the device ID and a power outlet ID to a computer server. The computer server uses the device ID and the power outlet ID to determine the location of the device within a building.
System and method for catheter connections
A console for performing a medical procedure has connection ports for electrically coupling equipment. Each connection port may have an associated indicator that signals whether a piece of equipment should be connected to the respective connection port. The indicators may be selectively activated depending on the procedure being performed with the console.
Automatic detection/classification of ECG cable interchange for different ECG lead systems
An ECG controller for an ECG device is connectable to a base ECG lead system (e.g., a 12-lead system) whereby the ECG controller implements an ECG waveform morphology based and ECG lead redundancy based detection and classification of any cable interchange (e.g., a limb cable interchange or a precordial cable interchange) between the ECG controller and the base ECG lead system. Alternatively, the ECG controller is further connectable to a sub-base ECG lead system (e.g., a limb only-lead system or a limited precordial-lead system) whereby the ECG controller implements an ECG waveform morphology based detection and classification of any cable interchange (e.g., a limb cable interchange or a precordial cable interchange) between the electrode interface and the sub-base ECG lead system.
Passive catheter identification and self-configuration system
In the present invention, a catheter identification system for providing information about one or more attributes of a catheter connectable to an electrophysiology (EP) recording or mapping system includes a catheter, a resistor network operably connected to the catheter, the resistor network including at least one identification resistor and an identification resistor measurement circuit operably connected to the catheter and configured to send an identification signal through the at least one resistor in the resistor network to retrieve an altered identification signal from the identification resistor, where the altered identification signal provides information on an attribute of the catheter.
