A root canal treatment instrument 100 continues drive of a cutting tool 5 in forward rotation drive until reaching 180 degrees, and when a load applied to the cutting tool 5 is equal to or greater than a reference load, drive of the cutting tool 5 is switched to reverse rotation drive until reaching 90 degrees. In the root canal treatment instrument 100, when a cumulative amount of rotation is equal to or greater than a reference amount of rotation, change to a drive pattern is made, forward rotation drive is continued until reaching 90 degrees, and when a load applied to the cutting tool 5 is equal to or greater than the reference load, drive of the cutting tool 5 is switched to reverse rotation drive until reaching 180 degrees.

DENTAL TREATMENT APPARATUS AND METHOD OF DRIVING THE SAME

A dental treatment apparatus includes a handpiece holding a cutting tool in its head, a drive portion driving the cutting tool held by the head, and a control portion controlling the drive portion in accordance with a drive sequence. The drive sequence includes at least one forward rotation drive for rotating the cutting tool in a cutting direction to cut a treatment portion and at least one reverse rotation drive for rotating the cutting tool in a non-cutting direction. Under the control of the drive portion in accordance with the drive sequence, a cumulative amount of rotation which is an accumulation of an amount of rotation in forward rotation drive and an amount of rotation in reverse rotation drive does not exceed a set value at any time point.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT APPARATUS

The A root canal treatment apparatus includes: a handpiece configured to hold a cutting tool in a head in a drivable manner; a motor driver and a micromotor configured to drive the cutting tool; a root canal length measurement circuit; and a control portion. The root canal length measurement circuit is configured to electrically detect a position of a tip end of the cutting tool in a root canal, using the cutting tool as a measuring electrode. The control portion is configured to perform drive for reversely rotating the cutting tool by a predetermined set angle (180 degrees) when the position of the tip end of the cutting tool detected by the root canal length measurement circuit reaches a predetermined set position, and then, stopping rotation.

SYSTEM, DEVICE AND METHODS FOR DENTAL DIGITAL IMPRESSIONS

Methods and systems for tracking a dental tool within an oral cavity for taking and/or updating of a dental impression are described. In some embodiments, a marker, optionally a magnetic marker, is coupled to position movements of a rotatable dental tool. In some embodiments, detected movements of the marker are used, optionally in combination with other tracking data, to map contours which a portion of the rotatable dental tool follows during interaction with a dental surface. Optionally, the interaction occurs during grinding, drilling, and/or other procedures; which may be preparatory, for example, to the manufacture and/or fitting of a dental prosthetic.
