Drill guide

Apparatus is provided for use with a dental handpiece, an oral surgical guide, and a bushing disposed in the oral surgical guide. The apparatus includes a drill bit having, a shank and a rigid guide-sleeve. A proximal end of the guide-sleeve couples to the dental handpiece, such that a lumen of the guide-sleeve and a drill bit coupled to the dental handpiece are coaxial along a central longitudinal axis of the drill bit. An inner diameter of the guide-sleeve is 0.03-0.06 mm greater than a diameter of the shank. The distal end of the guide-sleeve is slidably couplable with the bushing, such that upon the guide-sleeve being advanced into the bushing the dental handpiece is forced to align the axis of the drill bit to be coaxial with a central longitudinal axis of the bushing. Other applications are also described.

According to the invention, there are provided a system, a method and a computer program for producing an implant placing guide. According to the invention, the system for producing an implant placing guide, includes: a dental-clinic terminal that transmits, to a managing server, a three-dimensional intraoral image acquired by a CT scan in a state where a guide tray filled with an impression material is inserted into an oral cavity of a patient and that receives an implant-placing-guide processing file from the managing server; a managing server that transmits a plan request signal to one or more preregistered planner terminals when receiving the three-dimensional image from the dental-clinic terminal and that generates an implant-placing-guide processing file by using implant planning information when receiving the implant planning information from a planner terminal that accepts the plan request signal; and a planner terminal that transmits, to the managing server, a signal of whether or not the plan request signal is accepted when the plan request signal is received from the managing server and that receives and transmits implant planning information corresponding to the three-dimensional image to the managing server when receiving the three-dimensional image from the managing server. The guide tray has one or more markers which are used for matching an image of the guide tray and the three-dimensional image and has an impression of a teeth shape of the patient. The implant planning information includes positional information of a guide hole which is formed at the guide tray. According to the invention, a time for producing an implant placing guide is significantly shortened, and thus convenience of a patient remarkably improves.

Stable affixation system for guided dental implantation

A stable affixation system for dental implantation includes a fixation tray having, for rapid placement, a housing defining a chamber whose inner surface is configured to house a flowable or malleable material (configured to harden) and be placed over one or more teeth during guided dental implantation surgery. A mechanism for urging the material against the teeth may comprise side walls having an inwardly directed extra flexible arm extension or an inwardly directed step. A lock mechanism may comprise a wedge positioned over the fixation tray to reduce or eliminate freedom of movement of the tray. For rapid removal, the system may include mechanisms (for example an element rotating inside the tray) for applying force on the tray and material and for ensuring that the material adheres more strongly to the tray than to the teeth. The system is sturdy enough to withstand forces including from various angles and leverage.

System for preparing teeth for the placement of veneers

Dental instrumentation for use in guiding a cutting tool to remove tooth structure from a working tooth is prepared. A digital model of cutting guide shell structure for placement around a portion of the tooth to be treated is combined with preset tool movements to be made by the cutting tool by one or more processors to define final cutting guide data corresponding to final cutting guide structure for guiding the cutting tool. A digital model of a fixation instrument configuration for fixing the dental instrumentation to an adjacent tooth to the working tooth is combined with the final cutting guide data by one or more processors to define final instrument configuration data corresponding to a final instrument configuration for releasably fixing the dental instrumentation to the adjacent tooth and for guiding the cutting tool in the removal of the tooth structure from the tooth to be treated.

Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a digital overdenture to improve manufacturing convenience and preciseness. The method of manufacturing the digital overdenture according to the present invention includes a series of operations such as generating a planning image, manufacturing auxiliary devices for manufacturing the overdenture such as a surgical guide, a flattening guide, an impression model, and the like, setting a holder device and correcting a temporary denture, obtaining a corrected-scanned image, and designing and manufacturing a digital overdenture.

METHOD FOR ANALYSING A DENTAL SITUATION

A device including a camera, a processing unit and a screen. The camera configured to, at an updated instant, acquire, by a cellphone or a tablet, an updated image representing a real dental scene. The processing unit configured to determine a virtual dental scene as a representation of the real scene on the updated image and identify an element of the virtual scene which does not comply with an assessment criterion, and highlighting and/or adding a message regarding this element in the virtual scene. The screen configured to display the updated image and present the virtual scene overlaid with the representation of the real scene on the updated image displayed on the screen, in transparent mode or not on the representation. The processing unit, the camera and the screen are configured to communicate with one another. The patient acquires the updated image and observes the screen.
