Surgical Dental Tool
The present invention relates to a surgical dental tool for assisting with the implantation of a dental implant. The tool is designed to create an opening in a patient's jaw into which the dental implant will be inserted. In one embodiment, the tool includes a handle, a blade carrier, a pick and a blade stabilizing channel formed in at least a portion of the blade carrier and extends through at least a portion of the pick. The blade stabilizing channel receives and stabilizes a cutting blade. The blade carrier may include an adjustable clamping plate for removably securing the cutting blade in the blade stabilizing channel. The pick may include a sheath that receives and protects the tip of the cutting blade from breakage when the blade is in the blade stabilizing channel and is being used to cut a dental implant opening.
Therapeutic tooth bud ablation
A method for fabricating a custom surgical stent. A human third molar tooth bud ablation system for use in a tooth bud ablation procedure that results in tooth agenesis. A tooth bud ablation procedure that results in tooth agenesis. These methods, systems, and procedures may include and/or use ablation probe tips and/or stents.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPTICALLY EVALUATING PROXIMITY TO THE INFERIOR ALVEOLAR NERVE IN SITU
A surgical drilling system for determining proximity of a surgical drill bit to an artery during a drilling procedure, including an excitation and/or collection optical channel of a spectral absorption probe, wherein the excitation channel provides light configured for absorption by blood chromophores and the collection channel captures diffused back-scattered light modulated by said artery; a light detector; and a signal processor for determining a distance between the tissue and the probe based on said back-scattered light. A process for determining proximity of a surgical drill bit to an artery during a drilling procedure includes bringing said excitation light near the tissue including the artery; capturing diffused back-scattered light from said tissue; detecting said light modulated by said blood flow dynamics including an oscillating signal related to said periodic change; and processing said light and determining the proximity of the surgical drill bit to the artery.
System and method for the design, creation and installation of implant-supported dental prostheses
An improved system and method for the design, creation and installation of implant-supported dental prostheses is provided. A network accessible portal facilitates communication among a dental professional, a scanning center, a manufacturing center and others in the design and production of a dental drill guide and prosthesis, utilizing cone beam imaging, a rotatable 3-dimension representation of a patient's jaw, virtual placement of one or more implants and virtual testing prior to manufacture. Dental professionals may access the portal on a subscription or non-subscription basis.
Guide pin for dental implant surgery
Provided is a guide pin for dental implant surgery, providing guidance so that a practitioner easily determines a location and angle of an alveolar bone of a patient when forming an implant hole in the alveolar bone to place an implant in the alveolar bone. By using the guide pin for dental implant surgery according to the inventive concept, a practitioner may perform the surgery by determining an accurate location and shape of the alveolar bone of the patient when drilling an implant hole in the alveolar bone, and thus, the success rate of the implant surgery may be increased.
Method and Apparatus for Use in the Production of a Surgical Guide
A method of producing a modification plan for producing a surgical guide from an impression element includes: obtaining surface data representing a configuration of a surface of an impression element providing an impression of a surgical site; obtaining image data of a patient's anatomy; obtaining surgical plan data providing a surgical plan with respect to features in the image data representing anatomical features of the patient's anatomy; registering the impression element using the surface data and the image data with anatomical features of the patient's anatomy; and producing a modification plan from the surgical plan data using the registration of the impression element with anatomical features of the patient's anatomy, the modification plan being a plan for modifying the impression element.
CENTERING DEVICE FOR INSERTING OF A DENTAL IMPLANT
The present invention relates to a centering and guiding device (1) for a dental drill which comprises a body (10) including a guiding hole (15) for a dental drill and two arms (20, 30) pivotally coupled to the body (10). Each arm includes a respective free end (22, 32). Said arms (20,30) are capable of pivoting between a first open position, in which said respective free ends (22, 32) are mutually spaced apart to promote the movement of the device (1) from and towards an operating surface, and a second closed position, in which the free ends (22, 32) are approached to each other to match an operating surface. The device according to the invention also comprises an elastic element (40) to push the arms (20, 30) towards the closed position. According to the invention, each of said arms (20, 30) comprises a cylindrical end (27, 37), opposite to the corresponding free end (22, 32), accommodated in a corresponding seat (10A) defined by the body (10). Moreover, the cylindrical ends (27, 37) of said arms (20, 30) comprise respective toothed sectors (25, 35) mutually meshing each other to guide the rotation of said arms (20, 30) between said closed and open positions.
Bone foundation guide and method of use
The disclosure relates, in some embodiments, to a bone foundation guide configured to guide alteration of an alveolar ridge. A bone foundation guide may include a body with (a) a first end of a buccal wall and a first end of a lingual wall each connected to a first end of the body and (b) a second end of the buccal wall and a second end of the lingual wall each connected to a second end of the body such that the buccal wall is substantially parallel to the lingual wall and a space between the buccal wall and the lingual wall defines an open surgical space. A body may be configured to sit adjacent to a tissue spacing gasket having a thickness equivalent to a gum tissue that would normally cover the bone segment.
DENTAL DRILLING DEVICE
A dental drilling device includes a cutting unit and a direction control unit. The cutting unit has a tubular body providing a first end having a cutting end for harvesting a piece of bone and/or bone powder, and the second end coupled to a vertical stopper of the direction control unit. The tubular body has at least one opening for removing a piece of bone and/or bone powder. The direction control unit has a vertical stopper and a ring for establishing or limiting vertical and horizontal dimensions or borders of an implant site. A process or procedure for preparing an implant site by using the device includes affixing a ring to a surgical template for preparing a ring-affixed template suitable for forming an implant site; aligning a cutting end of dental drilling device within the ring; and cutting bone for forming or producing the implant site.
