System for preparing teeth for the placement of veneers
Dental instrumentation for use in guiding a cutting tool to remove tooth structure from a working tooth is prepared. A digital model of cutting guide shell structure for placement around a portion of the tooth to be treated is combined with preset tool movements to be made by the cutting tool by one or more processors to define final cutting guide data corresponding to final cutting guide structure for guiding the cutting tool. A digital model of a fixation instrument configuration for fixing the dental instrumentation to an adjacent tooth to the working tooth is combined with the final cutting guide data by one or more processors to define final instrument configuration data corresponding to a final instrument configuration for releasably fixing the dental instrumentation to the adjacent tooth and for guiding the cutting tool in the removal of the tooth structure from the tooth to be treated.
Calibration method and device for dental implant navigation surgery, and tracking method and device for dental implant navigation surgery
Embodiments of the present application provide a calibration method and device for dental implant navigation surgery, and a tracking method and device for dental implant navigation surgery. The calibration method comprises: (110) obtaining a position of a scanning area (304) relative to a second visual marker (306) based on a spatial position of a first visual marker (305) disposed on a scanning device (302), a spatial position of the second visual marker (306) disposed on a surgical area (303), and a scanning position of the scanning area (304) obtained by scanning with the scanning device (302); and (120) registering the position of the scanning area (304) relative to the second visual marker (306) with a three-dimensional scene to obtain a transformation matrix, and applying the transformation matrix to the tracking of a surgical instrument. Therefore, the position change of a surgical instrument may be reflected in real time in the three-dimensional scene without implanting a marker point into the body of a patient, even if the patient's head moves during the surgery, thereby accurately tracking the surgical instrument in real time.
Method for treating a patient with a tooth vacancy
An accurate and precise surgical guide for dental procedures, especially a procedure involving a subject with few or no teeth as well as methods for making and use of such guides.
METHOD OF INSTALLING A FINAL DENTAL PROSTHESIS
A cradle, assembly, system, and method for installing a prosthesis at a surgical site. The cradle temporarily engages the prosthesis and holds it in the correct orientation and position adjacent the surgical site. An aperture is defined in the cradle and a portion of the prosthesis is received therein. In one embodiment, the cradle, assembly and system are used to install a final dental prosthesis in a patient=s mouth in a single visit to the dentist=s office. A securement member pins the surgical template and subsequently the cradle to the jaw. A metal sub-structure on the final dental prosthesis is received in the aperture in the cradle. Cylinders attached to implants anchored in the jaw extend through holes in the sub-structure and are bonded to the prosthesis. The cradle is detached from the jaw and from the prosthesis prior to screws being re-inserted through the cylinders and into the implants.
EDENTULOUS SURGICAL GUIDE
A method may include creating a digital preoperative dental model of an oral structure of a patient in a CAM compatible file format based on preoperative scan data of the oral structure. The preoperative scan data may include a plurality of preoperative scan data sets that are aligned and combined with one another. The digital preoperative dental model may include (i) preoperative scan coordinates that represent an unexposed jawbone structure of the patient obtained from tomography scan data and (ii) preoperative surface scan coordinates that represent at least one of gum tissue, an existing dentition, and an existing artificial restoration of the patient. The method may also include creating a digital design of a surgical drill guide in a CAM compatible file format based on the digital preoperative dental model to directly engage at least one surface structure of the patient and a jawbone of the patient simultaneously.
Method for planning a dental structure
The invention related to a method for planning a dental structure, in which a 3D model of the structure, with at least one radially symmetrical aperture, is already provided. On the basis of the 3D model of the structure that is already provided, an axis of symmetry of the at least one radially symmetrical aperture of the structure is determined in relation to said 3D model.
3D system and method for guiding objects
A method for providing a guided relative movement of a first object and a second object includes obtaining the first object; obtaining the second object and a 3D model of the second object, and deriving from the 3D model a first preferred relative arrangement between the first and second objects; obtaining a pre-process plan describing a preferred path for the relative movement of the first and second objects towards the first preferred relative arrangement; performing a movement procedure that includes 3D scanning at least a region of said second object using the 3D scanner and determining a present relative arrangement of the first and second objects from a result of the 3D scanning; calculating information for correcting in real-time for deviation in the relative movement from the preferred path; and providing a relative movement of the first and second objects towards the first preferred relative arrangement.
Therapeutic tooth bud ablation
A method for creating a tooth bud ablation system including a custom surgical stent and an ablation probe tip for use in a tooth bud ablation procedure that results in the agenesis of a tooth in a patient.
TOOL AND METHOD FOR FORMING A NON-CIRCULAR CAVITY IN BONE TISSUE AND KIT COMPRISING THE TOOL
Method and system for implanting an implant (20, 130) in a bone (12) is provided. An osteotomy (10) having a first transverse cross-sectional shape is formed in a bone (12). An implant (20, 130) having a second transverse cross-sectional shape is inserted into the osteotomy (10), the transverse cross-sectional shape of the implant (20, 130) being different from the transverse cross-sectional shape of the osteotomy (10). The invention further relates to a preparation tool (100) for forming a non-circular cavity (10) in bone tissue (12). The preparation tool (100) comprises a proximal portion (102) and a distal portion (104). The distal portion (104) has a main body (106) and at least one bone removing element (108). At least apart of the at least one bone removing element (108) extends radially outward beyond an outer circumference of the main body (106). Moreover, the invention relates to a kit comprising the preparation tool (100) and an implant (130), such as a dental implant. Also, the invention relates to a kit comprising the preparation tool (100) and a tool guiding means, such as a surgical template.
IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE FOR GENERATING DESIGN IMAGE ON BASIS OF REFERENCE MARKER, AND METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention relates to a device and method for processing an image for generating a design image based on a reference marker. A method for processing an image for generating a design image based on a reference marker includes receiving, from at least one external device, a computerized tomography (CT) scan image and a plurality of oral scan images related to a person to be treated who has a plurality of reference markers attached to an inside of an oral cavity, generating a registered image by registering the images on the basis of locations of the plurality of reference markers detected from the images, determining, on the basis of the registered image, a teeth profile related to the inside of the oral cavity of the person to be treated, and generating a design image related to the inside of the oral cavity on the basis of the teeth profile.
