DENTAL IMPLANT DRILL AND METHOD OF USING
20220031425 · 2022-02-03 ·

A dental implant drill bit is internally irrigated and guided by markings. The dental implant drill bit also uses a collar to stop the drill. Any size of implant hole required for placing an implant directly corresponds with one size of implant drill bit, thus allowing a single drill bit osteotomy. Using the internally irrigated dental implant drill reduces the time and number of drill bits during osteotomy.

Method of using an endentulous surgical guide
11234791 · 2022-02-01 · ·

An approach is disclosed that involves creating an updated master dental model of a patient's mouth after an implant surgery by aligning new postoperative oral scan data to pre-existing preoperative oral scan data. Before surgery a multi-piece stackable surgical guide set is created using the preoperative oral scan data. The surgical guide set is used to facilitate the surgery. After the surgery at least one piece of the surgical guide set is placed back in a patient's mouth and acts as a reference marker because it was created using the preoperative oral scan data, but is also part of the postoperative mouth configuration since it was used to facilitate the surgery. The affected portion of the mouth is digitally scanned by way of a physical impression with the reference marker in place to determine the new characteristics resulting from the surgery such as new implant installation locations and orientations.

Method of making a radiographic guide and a surgical stent/guide for dental implants

A radiographic guide that can be used as a surgical guide is provided. The radiographic guide uses a provisional dental implant instead of a denture tooth or a custom made diagnostic tooth. The provisional dental implant, which can be integrated or selectively interconnected to the radiographic guide, may have a through-hole or a tapped hole that facilitates location of a dental implant. If the planned implant location is acceptable, the radiographic guide can be used as a surgical guide, wherein the hole guides surgical tools used to modify a patient's maxilla or jaw so it can receive the implant.

IMPLANT POSITIONING DEVICE FOR AN ORTHODONTIC BRACE
20170265960 · 2017-09-21 · ·

An implant positioning device is fitted on to an orthodontic brace of a patient and used in between an X-ray projecting machine and an X-ray film. The implant positioning device includes a measuring standard member, that forms a detection region by means of a radiopaque material and has a positioning unit on one side of the detection region. The detection region is provided with at least one set of measuring scales. An encircled member is integrated with one side of the measuring standard member and forms an encircling main body that is connected to the orthodontic brace. A sleeved space is collectively formed by the encircling main body and the measuring standard member.

Retainerless orthodontic dental implant system

A retainerless orthodontic dental implant system for positioning the mandible forward relative to the maxilla and for facilitating optimal airflow during sleep and a method of using such a system.

INTERACTIVE GUIDANCE AND MANIPULATION DETECTION ARRANGEMENTS FOR A SURGICAL ROBOTIC SYSTEM, AND ASSOCIATED METHOD

Dental implantation systems and methods are provided, including a system comprising a patient-interacting device having an instrument for preparing a site within a patient's mouth for a dental implant. A guiding device in communication with a fiducial marker engaged with the patient's mouth receives the patient-interacting device, and guides the instrument, relative to the fiducial marker, in conjunction with user manipulation of the patient-interacting device. A controller device including a processor is in communication with the guiding device, and directs the patient-interacting device via the guiding device to prepare the site to receive the dental implant. An engagement sensor is operably engaged with the patient-interacting device and communicates with the controller device. The controller device is responsive to sensed disengagement between the patient-interacting device and the user to direct the guiding device to maintain the patient-interacting device at a minimum vertical disposition. Associated systems and methods are also provided.

DRILL LIMIT SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING SAME
20170319290 · 2017-11-09 ·

A drill limit system includes a holder having drill stops removably coupled thereto and configured to receive a drill bit therethrough, and a platform coupled to the holder and configured to engage a tip end of the drill bits when received through the drill stops, wherein the holder and platform are movable relative to each other so that the position of the drill stops relative to the drill bits may be selectively varied. A method for attaching drill stops to a drill bit includes providing a holder and a platform movable relative to each other, the holder having a plurality of drill stops removably coupled thereto, inserting a plurality of drill bits through respective drill stops, moving the holder and platform relative to each other to select a desired height of the drill stops on the bits, and engaging the drill stops to the drill bits at the selected height.

DENTAL IMPLANT SURGICAL GUIDE

A dental implant surgical guide includes an upper guide member including a tooth mold and a plurality of first mating connector components, an intermediate guide member including a guide portion, a plurality of first connection portions and a plurality of second mating connector components, and a lower guide member including a body having a downward-facing recess, a plurality of second connection portions located on the top side of the body, a support bar having two opposite ends thereof respectively connected to the body at two predetermined locations and a mounting portion formed on the body.

3D system and method for guiding objects

A method for providing a guided relative movement of a first object and a second object includes obtaining the first object; obtaining the second object and a 3D model of the second object, and deriving from the 3D model a first preferred relative arrangement between the first and second objects; obtaining a pre-process plan describing a preferred path for the relative movement of the first and second objects towards the first preferred relative arrangement; performing a movement procedure that includes 3D scanning at least a region of said second object using the 3D scanner and determining a present relative arrangement of the first and second objects from a result of the 3D scanning; calculating information for correcting in real-time for deviation in the relative movement from the preferred path; and providing a relative movement of the first and second objects towards the first preferred relative arrangement.

Method for creating a virtual oral-maxillofacial anatomical representation
09763757 · 2017-09-19 · ·

The invention could be a process for creating a dental anatomical representation comprising the following steps, seating radiopaque elastomer material between an upper jaw and a lower jaw of a mouth of a patient, the patient then fully biting down upon the radiopaque elastomer material to form the radiopaque elastomer material into a physical record of at least a portion of each of the two jaws and each jaw's position relative to the other jaw; taking a first scan of the patient's mouth with the formed radiopaque elastomer material in place between the jaws; and creating a virtual representation of the formed radiopaque elastomer material from data presented in the first scan, then using the virtual representation to align and correlate data obtained from the first scan and any other scans of a patient's anatomy.
