At least one of the body and pelvic portions includes an elastic material to impart compression on a wearer. The garment also comprises a decorative outer layer, with the inner layer attached to the outer layer only at or adjacent to the neck opening. The outer layer is made from a different material to that of the inner layer and does not impart compression on the wearer.

A maternity garment, or bodysuit, configured to provide support and comfort to a pregnant woman. The garment may include an opening in the front of the garment exposing the stomach, or belly, of a woman. The garment may further include reinforced or compression material that passes underneath the belly providing support to the belly. Additionally, a reinforced back panel may be positioned on the back of the garment to provide additional support to the lower back of a pregnant woman. Straps may extend over the shoulders and cross in the back. Furthermore, a support strap may pass under the breasts as well. A garment for shaping a form of its wearer includes a front panel and a back panel coupled to one another at first and second seams. The front panel comprises self-lining material in a pectoral portion and compression layer material in a torso portion of the front panel. The back panel includes a first arcuate portion of compression layer material along the first seam and a second arcuate portion of compression layer material along the second seam. Lining material extends from an upper portion of the back panel to a bottom portion of the back panel and is coupled to the two arcuate portions such that the two arcuate portions are separated by the lining material. The compression layer material has a higher elastic modulus than a respective elastic modulus of the lining material.

A garment for shaping a form of its wearer includes a front panel and a back panel coupled to one another at first and second seams. The front panel comprises self-lining material in a pectoral portion and compression layer material in a torso portion of the front panel. The back panel includes a first arcuate portion of compression layer material along the first seam and a second arcuate portion of compression layer material along the second seam. Lining material extends from an upper portion of the back panel to a bottom portion of the back panel and is coupled to the two arcuate portions such that the two arcuate portions are separated by the lining material. The compression layer material has a higher elastic modulus than a respective elastic modulus of the lining material.

An article of apparel is described which is effective to regulate the temperature of the wearer. In an embodiment, the article of apparel includes a base textile with a thermal regulation membrane. The thermal regulation membrane contains a plurality of system-reactive components selectively engaged heat and/or moisture. In an embodiment, the printed coating includes a cooling agent, a phase change material, and a heat dissipation material. In operation, the article of apparel is effective to delay/diminish the rise in skin temperature (compared to a garment lacking the membrane), increasing wearer comfort.

The Perfect Assistant is a garment with shapewear built into the inside. It is manufactured by sewing pieces of fabric together to match a specific waist measurement. Channels that contain strips of boning are inserted along the seams and throughout the width of the sewn pieces of fabric. The completed structure is then sewn to the wrong side of the garment's waist line creating a discrete compression feature that alters the body's measurements.
