Torque wrench for connecting a replaceable instrument tip to a hand piece that carries the replaceable instrument tip in operation, a base element having a receiving region for placing the instrument tip inside the receiving region at least during connecting the instrument tip to the hand piece, a torque wrench mechanism for applying a certain torque when connecting the instrument tip to the hand piece and a housing surrounding the instrument tip being arranged in the receiving region, the housing being preferably transparent, wherein the torque wrench has a guiding structure for aligning the torque wrench relative to the hand piece during arranging the torque wrench on the hand piece, in particular in an interface region of the hand piece, and/or where the housing has an inner surface and an outer surface being concentric to each other over a complete primary region extending at least from the base element to the end of the instrument tip, when the torque wrench is equipped with the instrument tip.
TRACKING AND GUIDANCE ARRANGEMENT FOR A SURGICAL ROBOT SYSTEM AND RELATED METHOD
A tracking and guidance arrangement for a surgical robot system and related method are provided. The arrangement includes a patient-interacting device including an instrument engaged a distal end of a guide arm and a fiducial marker coupled to maxillofacial anatomy of the patient. A detector is connected to an articulating arm and co-operable therewith to be positioned adjacent to the fiducial marker, with the detector being configured to interact with the fiducial marker. A controller device is configured to receive data from the detector relative to the interaction thereof with the fiducial marker, to determine a spatial relation between the fiducial marker and the detector based on the data, to determine a spatial relation of the instrument relative to the fiducial marker, and to direct the instrument to interact with the maxillofacial anatomy of the patient according to the determined spatial relations.
Dental handpiece of center-injection type
The dental handpiece of a center-injection type has a bur sleeve (8, 9) having an axial through hole capable of receiving and detachably holding therein a cutting bur having an axial through hole, upper and lower bearings (10, 11) for rotatably supporting the bur sleeve (8, 9), and an injection nozzle (5) capable of being inserted into the axial through hole of the cutting bur from its proximal end for injecting cooling water through the other end. The dental handpiece (1) further has an upper seal means (17) arranged to seal the space between the upper region of the bur sleeve (8, 9) and the upper bearing (10), and a lower seal means (179 arranged to seal the space between the lower region of the bur sleeve (8, 9) and the lower bearing (11).
Prophy cup for dental handpiece
A prophy cup has an outer surface with dimples formed therein. The dimples increase the turbulent flow in a boundary layer proximate to the surface. The increased turbulent flow reduces the separation of fluid (a slurry of saliva, blood and pumice) at the boundary layer to minimize the quantity of fluid ejected from the surface. A dental handpiece housing is configured to split longitudinally so that a wiper is positioned proximate to the outer surface of the prophy cup. The wiper removes slurry as the prophy cup rotates during a dental cleaning procedure to further reduce the quantity of fluid ejected from the surface during the procedure.
DENTAL AND/OR SURGICAL INSTRUMENT WITH A CARTRIDGE, AND A CORRESPONDING CARTRIDGE
The present invention relates to a dental and/or surgical instrument (1) comprising a motor that drives a tool by way of a tool holder (24, 25, 27) situated in the head of the dental and/or surgical instrument (1), the tool holder (24, 25, 27) being supported in the head of the dental and/or surgical instrument (1) by at least a first ball bearing (21) and a second ball bearing (22), in which the first ball bearing (21) and the second ball bearing (22) are positioned in a cartridge (10) which is inserted into the head of the dental and/or surgical instrument (1), and in which the cartridge (10) comprises a single bore (80) for the mounting and guiding of both the first ball bearing (21) and the second ball bearing (22). The present invention additionally relates to a cartridge (10) to be inserted into the head of such a dental and/or surgical instrument.
Removable dental mandrel guard
A removable dental mandrel guard comprising a collar portion extending from a first open end to a transition region, which may include a first tapered portion, the transition region reducing from a first to a second interior diameter; a shaft guard extending from a first end rigidly connected to the transition region to a second end rigidly connected to the disc shield and having interior cross section defining the second interior diameter; a disc shield having opposed first and second transverse walls, each with a partially enclosed perimeter edge joined by coextensive edge wall extending from a first edge point to a second edge point, the interiors of the first and second transverse walls and edge wall defining a disc cavity; a continuous open seam extending longitudinally from the collar portion first open end to the shaft guard second end.
Disposable dental instrument
A disposable dental instrument of the compressed air drive type is disclosed for use in performing dental procedures on a workpiece. The disposable dental instrument is constructed from two mating shells and a core. Each shell incorporates a mating surface and the shells are joined using various bonding methods to ensure a waterproof, high quality dental instrument. An elongated body has conduits penetrating a base at one end of the body. The conduits allow entry of a light beam, a pressurized water stream, and a compressed air stream into the body. The base includes attachment threads for securing the body to a source of the light beam, pressurized water stream, and compressed air stream. Pluralities of passageways are in communication with the conduits for conducting the light beam, the water stream, and the air stream through the body. A head at the opposite end of the body rotatably mounts a turbine shaft on bearing surfaces which inhibit vibration and noise. The turbine shaft includes a turbine impeller and a clamping hole for removable attachment of a dental bur to the shaft. The air stream drives the impeller at a high speed for rotating the bur about a rotational axis. An opening in the body adjacent to the head allows release of the light beam, the pressurized water stream, and a portion of the compressed air stream in a direction toward the distal end of the bur so that the bur, the light beam, the water stream, and the air stream may all converge on the workpiece.
Handpiece adapter for an endodontic file
In some embodiments, the current invention relates to a method and/or system for using a standard dental handpiece for endodontic cleaning.
