Manufacturing of article of footwear include temporarily mating a sole and an upper to determine processes to be performed to the sole and/or the upper before permanently mating. As specific operations are determined based on the particular combination of a sole and an upper, the sole and upper are individually tracked through the subsequent processes to ensure the correct pairing is achieved at the time of permanent mating. The tracking may leverage identifiers in the tooling supporting the upper and in the sole.

Track system for creating finished products

A track system includes a primary transport portion and a secondary transport portion along which a plurality of vehicles can be propelled. Each secondary transport portion includes a unit operation station for performing a transformation on a container or the contents therein.

Method for estimating movement of a poly-articulated mass object

Movement of a poly-articulated object, having a plurality of segments linked by at least one articulation, is estimated. Inertial measurements are obtained from capture modules that are fixed relative to respective segments, each module having an accelerometer and a gyrometer, with the measurements being expressed in a measurement reference frame that is fixed relative to the respective segment. The measurements are used to determine at least one stress vector external to the object so as to control a physical model of this object representing the object. Kinematic quantities associated with the segments of the object are then estimated using fundamental dynamics principles using the computed stress vector(s).

Embodiments generally relate to robots and enabling robots to locate objects in a physical environment. In some embodiments, a method includes charging a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag with an RFID reader, where the RFID tag is coupled to an object, and where the RFID reader is coupled to a robot arm. The method further includes receiving a plurality of responses from the RFID tag, where each response includes a power value to which the RFID tag was charged and a time value for charging the RFID tag to the power value. The method further includes moving the RFID reader to a plurality of RFID reader positions using the robot arm, where each RFID reader position is associated with one of the responses of the plurality of responses. The method further includes determining a plurality of distances from the RFID reader to the RFID tag based on power values and the time values of the respective responses at the respective RFID reader positions. The method further includes determining a location of the RFID tag based on the plurality of distances.
