An electrically driven device includes a housing, an electric motor with a drive shaft having a first rotary axis and a drive pin connected to the drive shaft eccentrically with respect to the rotary axis, and a driven shaft having a second rotary axis and mounted in the housing for performing a pivoting about the second rotary axis. The driven shaft is coupled to the drive shaft by a gear mechanism having a scotch yoke mechanism converting a rotary motion of the drive shaft into a reciprocating pivoting motion of the driven shaft. The scotch yoke mechanism includes a cross slider receiving the drive pin and having a sliding support extending perpendicular to the first rotary axis. The cross slider is guided in the housing by at least two elastically deformable elements. The driven shaft is coupled to the cross slider by a pivotable crank arm, converting a rotary motion of the drive shaft into a reciprocating of the driven shaft.

An electrically driven device includes a housing, an electric motor with a drive shaft having a first rotary axis and a drive pin connected to the drive shaft eccentrically with respect to the rotary axis, and a driven shaft having a second rotary axis and mounted in the housing for a pivoting about the second rotary axis. The driven shaft is indirectly coupled to the drive shaft by a gear mechanism converting a rotary motion of the drive shaft into a reciprocating pivoting motion of the driven shaft. The gear mechanism includes a cross slider having a sliding support extending perpendicular to the first rotary axis and receiving the drive pin. The cross slider is guided in the housing by a parallel lever in the form of a parallelogram by at least two pivotable links. The driven shaft is coupled to the cross slider by one of the said links, thereby converting a rotary motion of the drive shaft into a reciprocating pivoting of the driven shaft.

Drive device for a medical, dental or surgical tool

Different mechanical drive devices for a medical, dental or surgical tool are described that are designed to put the tool into an oscillating, rotational motion, wherein the oscillating, rotational motion comprises an alternating rotation of the tool by a first angle of rotation in a first rotational direction and by a second angle of rotation in a second rotational direction substantially opposed to the first rotational direction, wherein the first and second angles of rotation may have different values, so that during multiple sequential rotations in the first and second rotational directions, the tool cumulatively experiences a rotational motion in a preferred direction.

DENTAL HANDPIECE

A wall portion of a dental handpiece accommodates a cam pin 111 with a cam hole 21 or a cam groove 211 designed so that the size of the cam hole 21 or the cam groove 211 is larger than the size of the cam pin 111 in each of the axial direction and the circumferential direction of a vibration cylinder 20. Therefore, a rotating member 110 is rotationally driven, and a vibrating force acts on the vibration cylinder 20 in the axial direction through the cam pin 111. In this manner, the vibration cylinder 20 vibrates or reciprocates in the axial direction with respect to a second cylindrical member 12, and vibrates or reciprocates in the circumferential direction. In addition, a needle portion 42 protruding from a through-hole 202 of the vibration cylinder 20 vibrates while being bent.

The cross slider is guided in the housing by at least two pivotable links. The driven shaft is coupled to the cross slider by an arm, converting a rotary motion of the drive shaft into a reciprocating of the driven shaft.

Multi-directional handpiece

A multi-directional handpiece that includes a motor drive extending along and configured for rotation about a body axis, the motor drive having: a motor gearing at a proximal end of the motor drive; and a file gearing in engagement with the motor gearing for transferring the rotational and axial movement to a workpiece; and a housing for the workpiece; and wherein through rotation of the motor drive, the workpiece moves in an axial oscillating motion while being rotated.

Surgical Dental Tool

The present invention relates to a surgical dental tool for assisting with the implantation of a dental implant. The tool is designed to create an opening in a patient's jaw into which the dental implant will be inserted. In one embodiment, the tool includes a handle, a blade carrier, a pick and a blade stabilizing channel formed in at least a portion of the blade carrier and extends through at least a portion of the pick. The blade stabilizing channel receives and stabilizes a cutting blade. The blade carrier may include an adjustable clamping plate for removably securing the cutting blade in the blade stabilizing channel. The pick may include a sheath that receives and protects the tip of the cutting blade from breakage when the blade is in the blade stabilizing channel and is being used to cut a dental implant opening.
