A control device includes an interface for outputting a command value to a motor driver adapted to drive a motor, a storage portion adapted to store one or more commands for specifying a behavior of the motor driven by the motor driver, and a processing portion including a first arithmetic circuit and a second arithmetic circuit. The first arithmetic circuit is adapted to execute a first process for successively interpreting the one or more commands stored in the storage portion and for successively calculating a parameter set which defines a function relating to calculation of the command value. The second arithmetic circuit is adapted to execute a second process for calculating the command value based on the successively-calculated parameter set, in each predetermined control cycle, independently of the first process.

In a method for operating a machine having a trajectory determined by a parts program and including multiple block transitions with a non-tangential contour, a high trajectory speed and a short operating time are achieved. For a first position-controlled axis, an acceleration duration different from a first period duration can be specified, wherein a transition maximum speed for the first position-controlled axis is determined such that, when the first position-controlled axis moves with the transition maximum speed and the transition maximum acceleration is applied, the speed of the first position-controlled axis has a value of zero at the end of the acceleration duration. The traversing movement is determined such that the speed of the first position-controlled axis, at the transition from a first trajectory section to a second trajectory section, does not exceed the transition maximum speed.

In a method for machining workpieces within a machining machine a tool is moved relative to a workpiece (1). The tool or the workpiece (1) travels at a predeterminable travel speed in a travel direction which is predetermined by a movement path (3). The movement path (3) is divided into machining portions (4) and acceleration portions (5). Within the machining portions (4), the workpiece is machined between a starting point (6) and an end point (7) of the machining portion (4) at a predeterminable machining travel speed in a machining travel direction. The travel speed is adjusted along the acceleration portion (5), which is defined by the end point (7) of a first machining portion (11) and the starting point (6) of a second machining portion (12), such that the predetermined machining travel speed is reached at the starting point (6) of the machining portion (4).
