ORTHODONTIC BRACKET
A particularly simple orthodontic bracket manufactured using cutting and bending technology, proposed for a number of different indications, includes a base plate having an adhesive side and a visible side, and an element for the guided retention of a treatment arch wire. The bracket is made in one piece and has, as a guiding element, a longitudinal guiding bulge extending mesio-distally and shaped out of the plane of the base plate. A treatment arch wire can be guided through beneath the guide bulge, such that it lies against the base plate.
ULTRA-ADAPTABLE ORTHODONTIC SYSTEM
An orthodontic bracket may include a housing portion having a first channel extending from a first end to a second end through the housing portion. The first channel is configured to slidably receive an archwire therethrough. The bracket also include a body portion configured to be received within the housing portion. The housing portion is configured to rotatably mount to the body portion about a first axis and a second axis. The first axis may be in an apico-coronal direction of the tooth. The second axis may be in a buccopalatal direction of the tooth. The bracket further includes a base portion configured to attach to a surface of the tooth. The body portion is configured to slidably mount on the base portion along the apico-coronal direction of the tooth.
Method for Producing a Customized Orthodontic Appliance
The present disclosure is directed, at least in part, to a self-ligating orthodontic bracket system that includes a rotatable member for securing an archwire within a slot of a bracket. Embodiments of the orthodontic bracket system disclosed herein include a bracket body containing the archwire slot as well as tie wings for attaching various orthodontic devices (e.g., elastomeric bands) to the bracket. The rotatable member is rotatable in a first direction (e.g., counter clockwise) relative to a body of the bracket for securing or locking the archwire within the slot, and for rotating in an opposite direction (e.g., a clockwise direction) relative to the bracket body for unsecuring or unlocking the archwire so that it is substantially unrestrained from exiting the slot. Other embodiments include an orthodontic appliance and method of producing and using the same, and preferably employed in a lingual orthodontic system, that includes friction reducing features between an interior of an archwire slot portion of the appliance and an archwire placed within the archwire slot.
Customized orthodontic bracket system
A customized orthodontic bracket system is provided. The system can include a bracket having a customized bracket bonding pad for bonding the bracket to a tooth of a patient and a bracket slot adapted to receive a customized archwire. The customized archwire is adapted to be positioned in the bracket slot to form a precise bracket slot-archwire interface. The bracket slot and the archwire when positioned in the bracket slot can be positioned substantially adjacent the tooth surface to reduce induced vertical error in tooth positioning. The bracket slot can be configured to have a bracket slot width substantially matching a cross-section of the archwire to reduce torque rotation around an axis of the archwire when positioned therein to further enhance end-of-treatment tooth positioning and reduce overall treatment time.
ORTHDONTIC BRACKET
An orthodontic bracket is used for correcting the dentition of a patient. The orthodontic bracket includes a wire holder having a wire hole (through-hole) through which an arch wire for orthodontic treatment is inserted, and a bracket base that detachably supports the wire holder and is affixed to a tooth surface of the patient.
Elastomeric orthodontic bracket
An orthodontic bracket can include a bracket body. The bracket body can include an outer body. The bracket body can also include an inner body coupled to the outer body. The orthodontic bracket can include a bracket base configured to couple to a tooth. The inner body of the outer body is disposed between the outer body and the bracket base.
ADJUSTABLE HOOK FOR ORTHODONTIC BRACKETS
An orthodontic bracket with an adjustable hook designed to facilitate bending. The orthodontic bracket includes a bracket body mountable to a tooth and an adjustable hook extending from the bracket body, the adjustable hook comprising a stem base structure a bend region extending from the stem base structure, a neck region extending from the bend region, and a head extending from the neck region. In some embodiments, the adjustable hook has a length, L.sub.1, measured from a bottom portion of the stem base structure to the head, and a length, L.sub.2, measured from a bottom portion of the neck region of the hook stem to a free end of the head, wherein L.sub.2 is greater than or equal to 60% of L.sub.1.
Orthodontic device
An orthodontic bracket for the re-positioning of a tooth, such that separate walls forming the archwire slot are designed to enable different extents of flexing and movement.
Method for producing a customized orthodontic appliance
The present disclosure is directed, at least in part, to a self ligating orthodontic bracket system that includes a rotatable member for securing an archwire within a slot of a bracket.
ORTHODONTIC BRACKET ASSEMBLIES WITH TORQUE-ADJUSTING DRUMS
Orthodontic bracket assemblies with torque-adjusting drums. The drum defines at least a majority of the archwire slot of the corresponding bracket assembly, and the drum may be selectively rotated about its longitudinal axis to adjust the prescriptive force that is applied to a patient's tooth during orthodontic use of the bracket assembly. The bracket assembly includes a positioning assembly that selectively retains the drum in a selected orientation relative to the base of the bracket assembly, thereby defining a prescription to be imparted by the bracket assembly to a patient's tooth. In some embodiments, the bracket assembly includes a biasing mechanism that selectively urges the positioning assembly to a position in which the drum is, or is not, retained in a selected position. In some embodiments, the bracket includes a release mechanism that selectively disengages the positioning assembly to permit adjustment of the drum.
