METHOD FOR PROVIDING ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCE
A method for providing an orthodontic appliance includes: a step of creating three-dimensional data for an auxiliary mouthpiece and three-dimensional data for an orthodontic mouthpiece based on an intraoral shape and a shape and a bonding position of a protruding piece to be bonded to an orthodontic target tooth; a step of forming, based on the three-dimensional data for the auxiliary mouthpiece, the auxiliary mouthpiece including a recessed portion that corresponds to the protruding piece; and a step of forming, based on the three-dimensional data for the orthodontic mouthpiece, the orthodontic mouthpiece including a pressing portion that comes into contact with the protruding piece.
SYSTEM FOR FORCE MEASUREMENT UPON ORTHODONTIC APPLIANCES
Systems for force measurement upon orthodontic appliances are described. Generally, a system for measuring a force or moment imparted by an orthodontic appliance may comprise a dentition mold having one or more target teeth each formed upon a fixture and which is movable independently of the dentition mold, a measurement sensor coupled to the fixture, and a processor in communication with the measurement sensor. An orthodontic appliance may be configured for placement upon the dentition mold where the orthodontic appliance imparts a force or moment upon the one or more target teeth such that the force or moment is transmitted to the measurement sensor via the fixture for measurement of the force or moment.
Mounting device for directly bonding brackets to the tooth surface
A mounting device for directly bonding brackets to the tooth surface includes a tray and a mounting rack. Each mounting rack is used for mounting a bracket, and the mounting rack includes a support and a positioning clamp. The tray is used as the support base for installing the mounting rack. The support is used as the fixed supporting part, with one end connected and fixed to the lingual or lip side of the tray. The positioning clamp is used as the rotating part to connect with the bracket and adjust the position of the bracket. The positioning clamp includes a damping rotation shaft, the damping rotation shaft matches with the support, the positioning clamp rotates around the support through the damping rotation shaft, and the support and the tray adopt an integrally formed structure or detachable structure.
Method and system for optimizing dental aligner geometry
Method and system for establishing an initial position of a tooth, determining a target position of the tooth in a treatment plan, calculating a movement vector associated with the tooth movement from the initial position to the target position, determining a plurality of components corresponding to the movement vector, and determining a corresponding one or more positions of a respective one or more attachment devices relative to a surface plane of the tooth such that the one or more attachment devices engages with a dental appliance are provided.
Dental appliances, systems and methods
An orthodontic appliance and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the present technology includes a positioning member configured to position an orthodontic appliance during installation in the patient's mouth. The positioning member may comprise a first portion configured to be coupled to the patient's teeth and a second portion extending away from the first portion. The second portion may be configured to be detachably coupled to the orthodontic appliance. While the positioning member is coupled to the orthodontic appliance, the positioning member is configured to be positioned in the patient's mouth and coupled to the patient's teeth, thereby positioning the orthodontic appliance at a desired location adjacent a patient's oral anatomy.
Dental Bracket with Removable Bracket Covers
A dental bracket can be used to generate a force profile corresponding to a target tooth movement (e.g., for moving and aligning the teeth of an orthodontic patient). The dental bracket includes a base and a cover. The base is configured to be attached to an anterior surface of a tooth, and the cover is removably attached to the base. The cover includes a slot configured to receive a wire. In some implementations, at least one of the size, shape, or orientation of the slot corresponds to a force profile corresponding to a target tooth movement. Example target tooth movements include a mesial root movement, a distal root movement, a mesial crown movement, a distal crown movement, an intrusion movement, an extrusion movement, a mesial crown rotation, a distal crown rotation, a buccal root movement, or a lingual root movement.
Systems and methods for determining a position for an orthodontic attachment
A method and a system for determining an orthodontic treatment plan including a tooth stripping step are provided. The method comprises: acquiring a 3D digital model of a first tooth and a second tooth of the subject, the second tooth being adjacent the first tooth; receiving a stripping request for stripping tooth material, from at least one of the first tooth along a first stripping plane and the second tooth along a second stripping plane; determining, along a surface of the first tooth, a first area of interest; determining, along the surface of the second tooth, a second area of interest; determining a distance between a first set of vertices associated with the first area of interest and a second set of vertices associated with the second area of interest; in response to the distance being greater than a predetermined distance threshold, denying, by the processor, the stripping request.
Devices, systems, and computer-implemented methods for dental attachment templates
The present disclosure provides methods, devices, systems, and computer-implemented methods for forming and placing attachments for use with dental appliances, and more particularly to the design, manufacture, and use of three-dimensionally printed attachment templates for use with orthodontic devices. Dental attachment templates include a cavity with one or more openings for injecting and bonding attachment material directly on a patient's tooth, which allow accurate placement of the attachments while providing the dental practitioner flexibility during the attachment forming process. Digital dental attachment template model techniques can be used to accurately place the cavity and opening.
Orthodontic Treatment System
A computer system and computerized method in which orthodontic treatment, including midcourse correction of one or more teeth in a dental arch fitted with a dental appliance, comprises a virtual simulation of a dental arch fitted with a virtual dental appliance in which each of the one or more teeth can be discretely moved from an initial position to a final position allowing modification of the fitted dental appliance by computerized selection of one or more brackets and production of a bonding tray adapted to hold the selected brackets in correspondence to determined bracket bonding locations in the virtual simulation of dental arch.
DIRECT BONDING GUIDE SYSTEMS
Direct bonding guide systems are described herein. A template guide may be used for positioning an orthodontic attachment and may generally comprise a formed body defining a receiving channel configured to conform to an occlusal surface of one or more teeth of a patient. A remainder of surfaces of the one or more teeth may remain exposed and a reference surface or shelf may extend along a length of the formed body and project at a predetermined angle. The reference surface may be configured for locating a bracket attachment upon the surfaces of the one or more teeth.
