Bracket system
A bracket system for orthodontic appliances including a bracket combinatorial library having a plurality of brackets each interchangeably fixedly mountable to each of a plurality of teeth within a dentition group in a dental arch, whereby the plurality of brackets can be configured to provide incremental variation in tipping force moments, in-out force moments, and torqueing force moments over the entire useful range of orthodontic mechanics, allowing an orthodontic practitioner to prescribe a combination of tipping force moments, in-out force moments, and torqueing force moments unique for each tooth in relation to the plurality of teeth of a patient.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ORTHODONTIC AND RESTORATIVE TREATMENT PLANNING
Systems and methods for planning a treatment for a patient’s teeth are provided. In some embodiments, a method includes receiving input data representing an initial tooth arrangement of a patient’s teeth. The method can include determining a target tooth arrangement for the patient’s teeth, the target tooth arrangement including a change in mass of at least one tooth. The method can also include generating a plurality of intermediate tooth arrangements configured to adjust the patient’s teeth from the initial tooth arrangement toward the target tooth arrangement. The method can further include generating instructions to output a visualization showing a difference in tooth mass between at least one intermediate tooth arrangement of the plurality of intermediate tooth arrangements and the target tooth arrangement.
METHOD OF ADMINISTERING ADHESIVE TO BOND ORTHODONTIC BRACKETS
Methods of administering a quantity of adhesive to bond orthodontic brackets is disclosed herein. The quantity of adhesive to bond a selected bracket to a tooth at a specific location thereon can be calculated based on a known geometry of the selected bracket and a digital model of the patient's teeth. A instruction guide can visually indicate with a graphic the amount of adhesive to dispense from a syringe or other device to bond the selected bracket to the surface of the tooth at a specific location planned in the digital model.
Dental attachment placement structure
The present disclosure provides methods, computing device readable medium, devices, and systems having a dental attachment placement structure. One dental attachment placement apparatus includes a body having an attachment placement surface that is to be placed on an attachment affixing surface of a tooth and wherein the attachment placement surface includes a portion that is shaped to allow placement of an attachment at a particular position on the affixing surface of the tooth and a portion of the body having a contour that is shaped to correspond with a contour of an alignment surface of a tooth and when the contour of the body and the corresponding contour is aligned, the attachment is located at the particular position and can be secured to the affixing surface of the tooth.
METHODS FOR FABRICATING DENTAL APPLIANCES WITH INTEGRALLY FORMED COMPONENTS
Systems, methods, and devices for improved orthodontic treatment of a patient's teeth are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method includes determining an appliance geometry for a dental appliance. The appliance geometry can include a first region representing a shell comprising a plurality of teeth receiving cavities, and a second region representing at least one integrally formed component to be integrally joined to the shell. The method can also include generating instructions including a first digital representation of the shell based on the first region, and a second digital representation of the at least one integrally formed component based on the second region. The method can further include transmitting the instructions to a fabrication system configured to additively manufacture the dental appliance by fabricating the shell based on the first digital representation, concurrently with fabricating the at least one integrally formed component based on the second digital representation.
Apparatus for aligning or positioning teeth, and related methods
An apparatus and a related pair of elements and methods are for aligning or positioning teeth. The apparatus is configured to be worn in a mouth of a wearer and further configured to be supported on the teeth of the wearer, and has elements arranged to be distributed along a set of the teeth and at least one engager member for engaging the elements for moving one or more of the teeth. In such embodiments, at least one pair of the elements can be engaged such that when in use, at least one part of one of the elements in the pair bears against at least one part of the other of the elements in the pair.
Systems and methods for generating 3D-representation of tooth-specific platform for dental appliance
A method and processor for generating a 3D-platform representation of a tooth-specific platform for attachment of a dental appliance to a tooth of a patient are disclosed. The method includes acquiring a 3D-tooth representation of the tooth, and defining an attachment zone on the surface of the 3D-tooth representation. The attachment zone has a zone perimeter enclosing a surface portion of the 3D-tooth representation corresponding to a surface portion of the tooth to which the tooth-specific platform is to be attached. The method also includes generating the 3D-platform representation having (i) a tooth-oriented surface matching the surface portion of the 3D-tooth representation and having a perimeter matching the zone perimeter, (ii) a perimeter wall extending between the tooth-oriented surface and the tooth-opposite surface and away from the surface portion, and (iii) a tooth-opposite surface matching an expanded surface portion of the 3D-tooth representation.
SELF-LIGATING BRACKET
A self-ligating bracket and a clip for a self-ligating bracket include a first clip arm and a second clip arm. The first arm terminates in a mesial arm, a distal arm, and a middle arm. The clip is moveable between an open position in which the arch wire slot is accessible and a closed position in which the arch wire slot is occluded. The second clip arm extends past the first, second, and third arms of the first clip arm. The self-ligating bracket includes a bracket body with an arch wire slot and the second clip arm positioned lingually of the arch wire slot.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND COMPUTER-IMPLEMENTED METHODS FOR DENTAL ATTACHMENT TEMPLATES
The present disclosure provides methods, devices, systems, and computer-implemented methods for forming and placing attachments for use with dental appliances, and more particularly to the design, manufacture, and use of three-dimensionally printed attachment templates for use with orthodontic devices. Dental attachment templates include a cavity with one or more openings for injecting and bonding attachment material directly on a patient's tooth, which allow accurate placement of the attachments while providing the dental practitioner flexibility during the attachment forming process. Digital dental attachment template model techniques can be used to accurately place the cavity and opening.
TRANSFER APPARATUS INCLUDING GINGIVALLY EXTENDING CHANNELS AND RELATED METHODS OF MANUFACTURING
A method of making a transfer apparatus includes providing a physical mockup having a shape that corresponds to a positive shape of a patient's dental arch and a positive shape of one or more appliance analogs including ramps extending in a generally gingival direction from the analog. A transfer tray may be formed over the physical mockup, with the transfer tray representing a negative replica of at least a portion of the mockup. One or more receptacles and related channels are accordingly formed in the ray, each receptacle approximating a least a portion of the shape of an appliance analog and each channel approximating at least a portion of the shape of a ramp. An appliance associated with an appliance analog is placed into a receptacle of the one or more receptacles, and the appliance may be bonded to a tooth surface of the patient's dental arch.
